TL;DR: In this paper, an inertial delay control (IDC) is employed to improve the performance of the active suspension system, which is used to estimate the uncertainties as well as disturbances present in the system.
Abstract: This paper is concerned with the improvement of ride comfort and road holding of heavy duty vehicles. Skyhook model is realised for active suspension system. Skyhook control restricts the movement of sprung mass which enhances ride comfort. An inertial delay control (IDC) is employed to improve the performance of the system. IDC is used to estimate the uncertainties as well as disturbances present in the system. The sprung mass position and velocity are used to design the control law. The effectiveness of control law is validated by carrying out simulation on MATLAB/Simulink.

TL;DR: A novel inpainting model based on Crow Search Optimized DWT Kernel-based MS (CODWTK-MS) is developed, which is compared over various traditional in painting models like MS, DWT-basedMS, DWt Kernel- based MS, and Dragonfly OptimizedDWT Kernel -based MS in terms of several measures and proves the superiority of proposed inPainting model.
Abstract: Inpainting plays a significant role in solving a variety of image processing issues that comprises zooming, removal of impulse noise, removal of scratches etc. These specified significances are all associated to inpainting in image domain. Even though more advanced inpainting models have been introduced, it suffers from problem of having low quality. Hence this paper intends to develop a novel inpainting model on the basis of MS modeling. Initially, the pre-processing of the image is done by Discrete Waveley Transform (DWT) and further, its given to MS inpainting model. Moreover, the filter coefficient in DWT algorithm is optimized by Crow Search Algorithm (CSA), that is being considered as the main objective. As the resultant image involves more scratches, this proposed model necessitates smoothening image model using Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Smoothing (RKHS). With all these techniques, the proposed inpainting model is termed as Crow Search Optimized DWT Kernel-based MS (CODWTK-MS). During the performance analysis, the proposed method is compared over various traditional inpainting models like MS, DWT-based MS, DWT Kernel-based MS, and Dragonfly Optimized DWT Kernel-based MS (DODWTK-MS) in terms of several measures and proves the superiority of proposed inpainting model.

TL;DR: An algorithm is proposed to design fast and modified Zernike moments to extract a particular texture from image irrespective of its rotation scale change and translation.
Abstract: In this paper, geometric invariant texture analysis, which comprises of rotation, scale and translation (RST) invariance, is presented. Many types of moments and functions of moments have been utilized in RST invariant pattern recognition applications. However, use of moments for texture content-based image analysis is limited. Here, application of Zernike moment for geometric invariant texture analysis is studied. An algorithm is proposed to design fast and modified Zernike moments to extract a particular texture from image irrespective of its rotation scale change and translation. The algorithm is tested for its robustness in the presences of various noises like salt and paper, Gaussian and speckle noise. The operator is evaluated for computation of moments on different data sets of textures like Brodatz and Vistex. Comparison is done with traditional Zernike moments based techniques, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)-Zernike moments based technique and proposed modified Zernike moment based technique.

23 Apr 2012TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented protection schemes for out-step detection based on synchronized phasor measurement for single machine infinite bus system (SMIB) using PSCAD.
Abstract: Distance relays used for transmission line protection can mal-operate on power swing. This paper presents protection schemes for out of step detection based on synchronized phasor measurement. Voltages and currents at both the ends of a transmission line are used to derive the parameters required for designing these schemes. The proposed schemes can distinguish stable and unstable power swing and can prohibit tripping of distance relays on stable power swings. The schemes are also compared with conventional power swing detection schemes. Simulations are carried out on single machine infinite bus system (SMIB) using PSCAD. (4 pages)

02 Jan 2011TL;DR: This article surveys and appraises available literature on various video encoding and wireless transmission techniques and discusses various parameters of wireless medium like reliability, QoS, transmission rate, transmission delay for video transmission as a key element of wireless multimedia communication.
Abstract: The video transmission using wireless technology is an important functionality in multimedia communication. Video coding/compression and real time transmission are the key indicators to select the appropriate techniques and needs very careful designing of the parameters. The extra efforts taken at the encoder side allows the decoding of the video on a less powerful hardware platform, where the issues like client buffer capacity and computational time are very critical. This article surveys and appraises available literature on various video encoding and wireless transmission techniques. It also discusses various parameters of wireless medium like reliability, QoS, transmission rate, transmission delay for video transmission as a key element of wireless multimedia communication.
