01 Nov 2011TL;DR: In this article, a new reaching law is proposed to design discrete sliding mode controller for a class of mismatched uncertain systems, where a simple pendulum model is considered to represent the lateral slosh.
Abstract: This paper presents a new reaching law to design discrete sliding mode controller for a class of mismatched uncertain systems. A control problem for slosh free-motion of a container is sought. It represents a broader class of systems. A simple pendulum model is considered to represent the lateral slosh. Validity of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by simulation.

16 Dec 2009TL;DR: An approach to break text based CAPTCHAs has been proposed that first preprocesses the given CAPTCHA, segments its characters, and then recognizes the characters depending on its features, and shows that the algorithm successfully breaks the CAPCHA.
Abstract: Completely Automated Public Turing Tests to Tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHAs) are the automatic filters that are widely used these days to disallow any automated script that can perform the work of a human. CAPTCHAs are built in such a way that it is very difficult for any automated script to break them. In this paper, an approach to break text based CAPTCHAs has been proposed that first preprocesses the given CAPTCHA, segments its characters, and then recognizes the characters depending on its features. The breaking of CAPTCHA gives strength of CAPTCHA which in turn helps to develop more robust CAPTCHA The testing results shows that the algorithm successfully breaks the CAPCHA. This algorithm will be also helpful to screen reader program. The results show that it is not a trivial task to design a CAPTCHA scheme that is both usable and robust.

01 Feb 2017TL;DR: This paper aims to improve diagnosis of liver diseases by exploring 2 methods of identification-patient parameters and genome expression, and proposes methods to improve the efficiency of these algorithms.
Abstract: Liver Diseases account for over 2.4% of Indian deaths per annum. [14] Liver disease is also difficult to diagnose in the early stages owing to subtle symptoms. Often the symptoms become apparent when it is too late. [1] This paper aims to improve diagnosis of liver diseases by exploring 2 methods of identification-patient parameters and genome expression. The paper also discusses the computational algorithms that can be used in the aforementioned methodology and lists demerits. It proposes methods to improve the efficiency of these algorithms.
