21 Jun 2000TL;DR: Some of the current developments according to the structure of the combination process are considered, and some issues involved in each structure are discussed.
Abstract: Much work has been done in the past decade to combine decisions of multiple classifiers in order to obtain improved recognition results. Many methodologies have been designed and implemented for this purpose. This article considers some of the current developments according to the structure of the combination process, and discusses some issues involved in each structure. In addition, theoretical investigations that have been performed in this area are also examined, and some related issues are discussed.

TL;DR: Experimental results show that this approach is better than the conventional approach, which only uses the term-by-term multiwavelet denoising, and it outperforms neighbor single wavelet Denoising for some standard test signals and real-life images.
Abstract: Multiwavelets give better results than single wavelets for signal denoising. We study multiwavelet thresholding by incorporating neighboring coefficients. Experimental results show that this approach is better than the conventional approach, which only uses the term-by-term multiwavelet denoising. Also, it outperforms neighbor single wavelet denoising for some standard test signals and real-life images. This is an extension to Cai and Silverman's (see Sankhya: Ind. J. Stat. B, pt.2, vol.63, p.127-148, 2001) work.

TL;DR: It is suggested that response-contingent dopamine uptake blockade within the NAS is sufficient to establish and maintain instrumental response habits.
Abstract: Rats learned to lever-press when reinforced with response-contingent microinfusions of the dopamine uptake inhibitor nomifensine (1.7 nmol per injection) into the ventro-medial (shell) region of nucleus accumbens septi (NAS). The drug was not effective when similar injections were given either in random relation to lever-pressing, into the more dorso-lateral (core) region of NAS, or into the frontal cortex. Cocaine was also effective in NAS, but considerably less so. These data suggest that response-contingent dopamine uptake blockade within the NAS is sufficient to establish and maintain instrumental response habits.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore the changing characteristics and environmental behaviors of disposable masks when exposed to the shoreline environment and find that the melt-blown cloth in the middle layer of masks is particularly sensitive to UV irradiation.
