Abstract: Islanding is one important concern for grid connected distributed resources due to personnel and equipment safety. Inverter-resident active islanding detection methods (IDMs) inject disturbances into the supply system and detect islanding based on the responses of locally measured parameters. Frequency drifting IDMs are very effective in systems with a single inverter but it is believed that their effectiveness might be reduced in multi-inverter systems due to mutual interferences. This paper discusses the effect of inverters with passive IDM on the islanding detection capabilities of inverters with active frequency drifting IDMs and also interferences between the latter. Non-detection zones (NDZs) of multi-inverter systems in a load parameter space are used as analytical tool. Simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the NDZs of the multi-inverter systems with active frequency drifting IDMs.

Abstract: Based on a review of empirical literature on empowering leadership, given incongruent and mixed results, the current work suggests reconsidering the effectiveness of empowering leadership We propose a framework for examining the effectiveness of empowering leadership that considers: 1) feasibility of non-linear main effects of empowering leadership on work-related outcomes, 2) possibility of reverse causation between empowering leadership and work-related outcomes, 3) potential contradictory mediating mechanisms through which empowering leadership influences work-related outcomes, 4) consideration of boundary conditions which could alter the relationships between empowering leadership and work-related outcomes, and 5) consideration of levels-of-analysis and multilevel issues in empowering leadership Our framework considers the multifaceted nature of empowering leadership and offers a guiding tool for advancing future research in this area

Abstract: The Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) is a spaceborne mission concept focused on tropical cyclone (TC) inner core process studies. CYGNSS attempts to resolve the principle deficiencies with current TC intensity forecasts, which lies in inadequate observations and modeling of the inner core. CYGNSS consists of 8 GPS bistatic radar receivers deployed on separate nanosatellites. The primary science driver is rapid sampling of ocean surface winds in the inner core of tropical cyclones

Abstract: Individual differences in salivary testosterone were examined in 213 adolescents (106 boys, 107 girls; mean age = 13.66 years) in relation to externalizing and internalizing psychopathology. Self- and parent-report measures of behavior problems and psychiatric symptoms were obtained. Latent anxiety–depression, disruptive behavior, and attention problem constructs were developed using multitrait, multimethod procedures. Saliva samples were collected in the morning, midday, and late afternoon on multiple days and were later assayed for testosterone. Latent constructs were derived for testosterone level and diurnal variation across the six sampling occasions. Structural equations modeled relationships between problem behavior and intra- and interindividual differences in testosterone separately by gender. For boys, lower levels of testosterone and testosterone levels that decreased more slowly across the day were related to higher levels of anxiety–depression and attention problems. These associations were not moderated by pubertal development. For girls, steep declines in testosterone production across the day related to higher levels of disruptive behavior problems, but this association was only evident after including pubertal development as a moderator in the model. These findings raise novel questions regarding the nature and magnitude of links between testosterone and problem behavior in youth.
