TL;DR: Results suggest that ME closely resembles CD and that CD differs from FE.
Abstract: This study tested the hypothesis that chronic depression (CD) is more similar to depression with multiple prior episodes (ME) than to depression with few prior episodes (FE). Data from participants (n = 1013) with mild to moderate depressive symptoms (Patient Health Questionnaire [PHQ-9] score 5 – 14) who took part in a randomized control trial of an internet intervention for depression (EVIDENT trial) were re-analyzed. The MINI-interview was conducted to diagnose CD (n = 376). If CD was not diagnosed, the self-reported number of depressive episodes was used to categorize participants as having episodic depression with up to five (FE, n = 422) or more than five (ME, n = 215) prior episodes. Over a three-year period, participants were assessed repeatedly regarding the course of depression (PHQ-9, QIDS), quality of life (SF-12) and therapeutic progress (FEP-2). At baseline, most scores were different between CD and FE but comparable between CD and ME. Time to remission did not differ between CD and ME but was longer in CD compared to FE. Results suggest that ME closely resembles CD and that CD differs from FE.

TL;DR: A novel approach for an on demand routing protocol using sensor attractiveness-metric (Pa) gradients for the data forwarding decisions is proposed, which is a lightweight approach to generalized multihop routing algorithms in WSNs.
Abstract: A novel approach for an on demand routing protocol using sensor attractiveness-metric (P a ) gradients for the data forwarding decisions is proposed. Attractiveness based routing provides an efficient concept for a data-centric routing in wireless sensor networks. The protocol works on-demand, is source-initiated, has a flat hierarchy and has its origin in the idea of pheromone based routing. During development of the algorithm, the attractiveness-metric was turned into a special factor for link costs and is the sole determinant for data load propagation where the attractiveness level of the sensor node defines its data forwarding attitude. The link costs called “attractiveness” are calculated from the sensor nodes' energy status, the current buffer (sensor on board memory) fill level. The received signal strength can also take into account for the attractiveness metric calculation. The algorithm only supports node-to-sink data traffic and therefore is a lightweight approach to generalized multihop routing algorithms in WSNs. The performance evaluation of the proposed protocol is done by extensive simulation using a multi-agent based simulation environment called NetLogo.

TL;DR: The CoVID-19 workshop as discussed by the authors has revealed that science needs to learn how to better deal with the irreducible uncertainty that comes with global systemic risks as well as with the social responsibility of science towards the public good.
Abstract: COVID-19 has revealed that science needs to learn how to better deal with the irreducible uncertainty that comes with global systemic risks as well as with the social responsibility of science towards the public good. Further developing the epistemological principles of new theories and experimental practices, alternative investigative pathways and communication, and diverse voices can be an important contribution of history and philosophy of science and of science studies to ongoing transformations of the scientific enterprise.

TL;DR: The ultrasound scan plays an essential role in the urological-andrological diagnosis of benign intra-testicular cystic lesions andMalign testicular tumours with cystic changes are particularly the mature teratoma, carcinomas of the epididymis and metastasis.
Abstract: The ultrasound scan plays an essential role in the urological-andrological diagnosis. High-resolution transducers (8-15 MHz) make it possible to prove increasingly small changes. The assessment of cystic masses in the testis can also be difficult for experienced doctors. However, a precise diagnosis is crucial for the patient to avoid further invasive diagnostics and therapy. The differential diagnosis of benign intra-testicular cystic lesions include the tubular ectasia of the rete testis (TERT), the cystic dysplasia, epidermoid cysts, dermoid cysts, simple testicular cysts and cysts of the tunica albuginea. Malign testicular tumours with cystic changes are particularly the mature teratoma, carcinomas of the epididymis and metastasis. The following overview shows different sonographic images and interpretations with a particular focus on TERT.

TL;DR: Evidence that a Digital Divide in Austria exists even among teenagers, in particular in relation to gender, socio‐economic status and school type is given.
Abstract: Purpose – This paper aims to examine socio‐cultural differences in internet use (Digital Divide) among 14‐year‐old Austrian pupils, in particular usage scenarios and research competences. It is based on a paper presented at the International Association for the Development of the Information Society e‐Society conference, 10‐13 March 2011, Spain (Parycek et al., 2011).Design/methodology/approach – The interpretation follows the results of a study conducted in 2009 and 2010 in school computer labs. The study design includes an online survey, a questionnaire and a cloze test.Findings – The results give evidence that a Digital Divide in Austria exists even among teenagers, in particular in relation to gender, socio‐economic status and school type.Research limitations/implications – As the survey was done with 14‐year‐old pupils, the results are limited to this age group. However, the target group enables researchers to relate the results to the main two school types in Austria, as pupils attend either of thes...
