TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of whether one can assume a monotonic relationship between the construct, tendency to organize verbal stimuli in free recall, and current clustering indexes is discussed in the light of Colle's criticism that clustering measures have no theoretical basis.
Abstract: The problem of whether one can assume a monotonic relationship between the construct, tendency to organize verbal stimuli in free recall, and current clustering indexes is discussed in the light of Colle's criticism that clustering indexes have no theoretical basis. It is argued that there is a primitive theory which assumes that clustering measures increase as a function of increases in the construct. Consideration is also given to Shuell's claim that choice between indexes depends on the psychological and statistical assumptions one is prepared to accept. This claim is endorsed but it is argued that it is possible to distinguish between indexes which share the same assumptions by consideration of the basic properties which they need to possess in order to be suitable research instruments.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed the Music Style Attitude Profile, which is a measure of attitude toward instrumental music style and used short musical excerpts exclusively to procure immediate response toward particular instrumental styles.
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to develop the Music Style Attitude Profile, which is a measure of attitude toward instrumental music style This measure differs from other attitude tests in that it utilizes short musical excerpts exclusively to procure immediate response toward particular instrumental styles Interval data on attitudes provided by the measure permits the use of parametric procedures in analysis and hypothesis testing The test has been found sufficiently reliable and valid to permit the collection of data for the purposes of standardization and the construction of a profile chart

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a dipole panel, a unit building block for a TV transmitting dipole array, with beamwidth, sidelobe levels, front to back ratio and input impedance.
Abstract: When designing a dipole 'panel', a unit building block for a TV transmitting dipole array, there are several constraints which need to be met viz. beamwidth, sidelobe levels, front to back ratio and input impedance. Theories on reflector backed dipole arrays have so far dealt with idealised or thin dipoles and with infinite reflector. They are not very useful for predicting sidelobe levels and front to back ratios nor would they be of any use to calculate the input impedance of an array of relatively thick dipoles which are often used in practice. Experimental procedures are usually employed by the designer and these have proved to be very time consuming.
