TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a process for the deposition of traces of gaseous contaminants based on halogen and/or sulfur and /or their compounds, such as mercaptane, H 2 S, HCI, HBr, Hl, organic sulfur and halogen compounds, chlorine, bromine or iodine, from waste gases by chemical adsorption, wherein passing gas stream containing the contaminant by a washing liquid, the heavy metal ions such as silver or copper ions, which are able to form with each to remove pollutants hard Iosllche compounds.
A process for the deposition of traces of gaseous contaminants based on halogen and / or sulfur and / or their compounds, such as mercaptans, H 2 S, HCI, HBr, Hl, organic sulfur and halogen compounds, chlorine, bromine or iodine, from waste gases by chemical adsorption, wherein passing gas stream containing the contaminant by a washing liquid, the heavy metal ions, such as silver or copper ions, which are able to form with each to remove pollutants hard Iosllche compounds. Using this method allows even the smallest traces of said gaseous pollutants from exhaust gases quickly deposited without creating additional waste gas and environmental problems.

TL;DR: In this paper, a fluorine treatment on γ-TiAl alloys leads to the formation of a pure protective alumina scale and allows their use at service temperatures above 800°C.
Abstract: Titanium aluminides suffer from non-protective mixed-oxide scale formation during high-temperature exposure in oxidizing environments, so that they cannot be used at temperatures above approximately 800° C for longer times without additional treatment. A fluorine treatment on γ-TiAl alloys leads to the formation of a pure protective alumina scale and allows their use at service temperatures above 800°C. This thermally grown aluminum oxide layer can be used for bonding ceramic thermal barrier coatings to the TiAl substrate. Zirconia topcoats deposited by electron-beam physical vapor deposition were very adherent to F-treated TiA samples during cyclic oxidation tests at 900 to 1,000°C. A separate bond coat is not needed in this case.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the origin of the efficiency losses and what needs to be done to prevent or counteract it and pave the way for efficient, intensified heterogeneous photocatalytic processes.
Abstract: Advances in LED and photoreactor technology have brought semiconductor photocatalysis to the verge of feasibility of industrial application for the synthesis of value-added chemicals. However, the often observed efficiency losses under intensified illumination conditions still present a great challenge. This perspective discusses the origin of these efficiency losses and what needs to be done to prevent or counteract it and pave the way for efficient, intensified heterogeneous photocatalytic processes. The role of surface catalysis is particularly highlighted as one of the rate-limiting steps.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the results of electrochemical corrosion testing methods with the practical performance of the materials and provided an extensive synopsis of present-day knowledge and experience on this subject, with detailed bibliographical notes.
Comparing the results of electro-chemical corrosion testing methods with the practical performance of the materials
The paper provides an extensive synopsis of present-day knowledge and experience on this subject, with detailed bibliographical notes. The questions as to what extent the results of electrochemical corrosion testing methods permit conclusions concerning the expected performance of the materials in practice is discussed from various aspects. After a description of the test methodology applied to the determination of the stability ranges (activity, passivity, immunity) which can be defined by electrode potentials, the author deals with a number of applications such as: cathodic and anodic corrosion protection, determination of pit corrosion proneness and stress corrosion proneness, electrokinetic tests of the effectiveness of surface treatments, protection criteria for corrosion inhibitors. Finally, some applications in the field of industrial routine testing are discussed.
