TL;DR: This review focuses on synthetic methods of isatins and their biological activities such as antimicrobial, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity, antitubercular activity.
Abstract: Isatin (1 H-indole-2, 3-Dione) and its derivatives are versatile compounds which acts as a precursor for a large number of pharmacologically active compounds. Therefore isatins have a significant importance in the synthesis of different heterocyclic compounds. Isatins show variety of biological activities. In this review we focus on synthetic methods of isatins and their biological activities such as antimicrobial, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity, antitubercular activity.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented HI observations of four giant low surface brightness (GLSB) galaxies UGC 1378, UGC 1922, uGC 4422 and UM 163 using the giant meterwave radio telescope (GMRT).
Abstract: We present HI observations of four giant low surface brightness (GLSB) galaxies UGC 1378, UGC 1922, UGC 4422 and UM 163 using the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT). We include HI results on UGC 2936, UGC 6614 and Malin 2 from literature. HI is detected from all the galaxies and the extent is roughly twice the optical size; in UM 163, HI is detected along a broken disk encircling the optical galaxy. We combine our results with those in literature to further understand these systems. The main results are the following: (1) The peak HI surface densities in GLSB galaxies are several times 10^21 cm^{-2} . The HI mass is between 0.3 - 4 x 10^10 M_Sun/yr, dynamical mass ranges from a few times 10^11 M_Sun/yr to a few times 10^12 M_Sun/yr. (2) The rotation curves of GLSB galaxies are flat to the outermost measured point with rotation velocities of the seven GLSB galaxies being between 225 and 432 km s^{-1}. (3) Recent star formation traced by near-ultraviolet emission in five GLSB galaxies in our sample appears to be located in rings around the galaxy centre. We suggest that this could be due to a stochastic burst of star formation at one location in the galaxy being propagated along a ring over a rotation period. (4) The Hi is correlated with recent star formation in five of the seven GLSB galaxies.

TL;DR: In this article, the in situ reactions of 3,6-dimethyl/diphenyl-4,5-diazaocta-3, 5-diene-2,7-dione with diamines (ethylenediamine, o-phenylenediamines) in the presence of vanadyl salt yielded binuclear macrocyclic complexes of type [(VO)2mac](SO4)2.
Abstract: The in situ reactions of 3,6-dimethyl/diphenyl-4,5-diazaocta-3,5-diene-2,7-dione with diamines (ethylenediamine, o-phenylenediamine) in the presence of vanadyl salt yielded binuclear macrocyclic complexes of type [(VO)2mac](SO4)2. Attempts to synthesize the corresponding metal-free macrocyclic ligands did not prove successful. The magnetic moment of the complexes decreases from ca. 1.73 (295 K) to 1.65μ B (91 K). The electronic spectra exhibit three bands at ca. 12 000-14 200, 18 200-19 500 and an intense band at ca. 30 000 cm-1. The third band is probably due to a oxo → V(IV) charge-transfer transition. The infrared spectra indicate that the ligands coordinate through four aza nitrogen atoms to each V(IV). The fluid solution EPR spectra show an eight line pattern typical of a mononuclear VO(IV) compound and indicating the absence of VO…VO electron spin interaction. The electrochemical behavior of one complex with regards to oxidation has been studied by cyclic voltammetry in MeCN-MeOH solution.

TL;DR: Kinetics and mechanistic pathways for atmospheric oxidation of HFE-7500 ( n-C3F7CF(OCH2CH3)CF(CF3)2) initiated by Cl atom and NO3 radical have been studied using density functional theory and temperature dependence of the rate constants and branching ratios for these pathways contributing to overall reaction are described.
