TL;DR: In this paper, four pectin lyases (PNLs), producing indigenous fungal strains (Aspergillus flavus, A. niger and A. wentii), have been isolated from local samples, and the effect of metal ions (Ag +, Ca ++, Co ++, Cu ++, Hg ++, K +, Mg ++, Zn ++, Na + ) and protein inhibitors (EDTA, sodium arsenate, sodium azide, potassium permanganate and potassium ferrocyanide) on the activities of PNLs
Abstract: Four pectin lyases (PNLs), producing indigenous fungal strains (Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, A. phoenicis and A. wentii), have been isolated from local samples. Enzymatic characteristics of PNLs produced by above fungal strains using citrus pectin have been found to be (respectively): Km, 0.38, 0.67, 0.55 and 0.32 mg/ml; pH, 8.0, 7.0, 5.0 and 7.0; and temperature, 50 °C for all PNLs. Effect of metal ions (Ag + , Ca ++ , Co ++ , Cu ++ , Hg ++ , K + , Mg ++ , Zn ++ , Na + ) and protein inhibitors (EDTA, sodium arsenate, sodium azide, potassium permanganate and potassium ferrocyanide) on the activities of PNLs has been determined.

TL;DR: A theoretical analysis of the nematic behavior of p - n -propoxybenzoic acid has been carried out on the basis of inter-molecular interaction energy calculations.
Abstract: A theoretical analysis of the nematic behaviour of p - n -propoxybenzoic acid has been carried out on the basis of inter-molecular interaction energy calculations. CNDO/2 method has been employed to compute net atomic charges and atomic dipole components at each atomic centre of the molecule. Using the quantum-mechanical charge distribution, intermolecular interaction energy between a pair of p - n -propoxybenzoic acid molecules has been evaluated using second order perturbation theory and multicentered-multipole approximation method. Stacking as well as in-plane lateral interactions between a pair of the molecules, have been taken into account. On the basis of results obtained, an attempt has been made to elucidate the molecular ordering and other related parameters responsible for the mesomorphism of the system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between academic motivation and school performance among students was found to be positively correlated with motivational belief and self-regulated learning, which emerged as the best predictor of school performance.
Abstract: The objective of the present study was to find the relationship between academic motivation and school performance among students Three hundred subject varying along the types of family (Joint/Nuclear), school (Government/Private) and medium of instructions (Hindi/English) drown from Gorakhpur district The age range of subjects was 15-22 years Academic motivation measure developed by Paul R Pintrich & Elisabeth V De Groot (1990) and school performance measure developed by researcher (2010) were used Results indicate that the medium of instruction was found significant on the two dimension of academic motivation scale namely academic belief & self regulated learning as well as school performance scale Similarly, the interaction effects of the type of family and school were also found significant on the academic motivation and school performance School performance was positively correlated with motivational belief and self regulated learning Regression analysis revealed that the motivational beliefs and self-regulated learning emerged as the best predictor of school performance The implication of the present study has been discussed
