TL;DR: It can be concluded that azadirachtin severely affects the physiology of calcium homeostasis in H. fossilis and the botanical pesticides should be used carefully near aquatic reservoirs.
Abstract: Freshwater catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis, were subjected to 42 mg L−1 of azadirachtin for short-term exposure (96 h) and to 10.5 mg L−1 for long-term exposure (28 days). Six fishes were sacrificed on each time interval from control and experimental groups after 24, 48, 72, and 96 h in the short-term exposure and after 7, 14, 21, and 28 days in the long-term experiment. The calcium regulating endocrine gland, viz. the ultimobranchial gland, was fixed for histological studies. Up to 72 h of azadirachtin treatment, there was no histological alteration in the UBG (ultimobranchial gland) of H. fossilis. After 96 h exposure, the ultimobranchial cells stain feebly and the nuclear volume of these cells were slightly decreased. No histological alterations have been observed in the UBG cells up to 14 days following azadirachtin exposure. After 21 days, the cytoplasm of ultimobranchial cells was feebly stained and the nuclear volume exhibits a decrease. The nuclear volume of these cells was further decreased and ...

TL;DR: Some di− and triorganotin(IV) complexes of 2−hydroxyacetophenone semicarbazone (H2MeSSC) and thiosemicarachnoid (TH2MeSTSC) have been synthesized by the reactions of corresponding di-and tri-organotin (IV) chlorides with the anionic form of the ligands in desired molar ratios as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Some di‐ and triorganotin(IV) complexes of 2‐hydroxyacetophenone semicarbazone (H2MeSSC) and thiosemicarbazone (H2MeSTSC) have been synthesized by the reactions of corresponding di‐ and triorganotin(IV) chlorides with the anionic form of the ligands in desired molar ratios. All the compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses and spectral (IR, 1H, 13C and 119Sn NMR) studies.

TL;DR: Air pollution tolerance index (APTI) of F. religiosa (deciduous) and C. papaya (evergreen) was found to be 19.73 and 81.10 respectively, proving that the latter has low tolerance capacity and is resistant to the elevated ambient air SO2.
Abstract: Present study is an attempt to evaluate the difference in rate of sulphur dioxide (SO2) absorption by deciduous (Ficus religiosa) and evergreen (Carica papaya) plants, under elevated concentration of the gas in ambient air. Two-way ANOVA for SO2 in air and sulphate (SO4) accumulation in both the selected plants showed significant difference (p<0.01) at different study sites; different months as well as interaction effect of both site and months. The linear correlation coefficient among ambient air SO2 and SO4 in leaves was always significant (p<0.001) in case of deciduous plant; however, the same in evergreen plants showed heterogeneous result. Air pollution tolerance index (APTI) of F. religiosa (deciduous) and C. papaya (evergreen) was found to be 19.73 and 81.10 respectively, proving that the former has low tolerance capacity and is sensitive, while the latter is resistant to the elevated ambient air SO2.

TL;DR: In this article, the reactions of Cp2>HfCl2> with hydrazones (LH) derived from acetylferrocene and aromatic acid hydrazides (benzoic, 2-chlorobenzoic and 4-toluic) in various stoichiometric ratios have been studied and the complexes of the types [Cp2 > Hf(L)Cl] and [cpHf (L)3>] were obtained.
Abstract: The reactions of Cp2>HfCl2> with hydrazones (LH) derived from acetylferrocene and aromatic acid hydrazides (benzoic, 2-chlorobenzoic, 3-nitrobenzoic and 4-toluic) in various stoichiometric ratios have been studied and the complexes of the types [Cp2>Hf(L)Cl] and [CpHf(L)3>] were obtained. Tentative structural conclusions are drawn for the reaction products based upon elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic moment and spectral data (u.v.–vis, i.r., 1>H-n.m.r. and 13>C-n.m.r.). Studies were conducted to assess the growth-inhibiting potential of the complexes synthesized, and the ligands, against various fungal and bacterial strains.
