Abstract: Laboratory evaluations were made to assess the toxicological and biochemical effect of cypermethrin on fingerlings of common edible freshwater culture carp (Labeo rohita). There was a significant negative (𝑃 0.278 μg/L (12 h), > 0.240 μg/L (18 h) and >0.205 μg/L (24 h). Exposure to sublethal doses of cypermethrin for 24 h and 96 h exposure period caused significant (𝑃<0.05) time- and dose-dependent alterations in total protein, total free amino acids, nucleic acids, glycogen, pyruvate, and lactate level and in the activity of enzyme protease, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, acid phosphatases, alkaline phosphatases, acetylcholinesterase, and cytochrome oxidase in liver and muscle tissues of fish. Thus, cypermethrin has potent piscicidal activity against fingerlings of fish Labeo rohita and adversely affects their behavioural patterns, shifting aerobic pathway of fish respiration towards anaerobic pathway and also inhibiting energy production by suppressing ATP synthesis.

Abstract: Four transition metal hexammine perchlorates namely, [Cu(NH3)6](ClO4)2, [Co(NH3)6](ClO4)2, [Ni(NH3)6](ClO4)2 and [Zn(NH3)6](ClO4)2 have been prepared, characterized and used as ballistic modifiers in the combustion of hydroxy terminated polybutadiene (HTPB)-Ammonium perchlorate (AP) composite solid propellants. Burning rate was considerably enhanced with [Co(NH3)6](ClO4)2 and [Cu(NH3)6](ClO4)2 whereas moderately with [Ni(NH3)6](ClO4)2 and [Zn(NH3)6](ClO4)2 at low concentration (2% by wt). [Co(NH3)6](ClO4)2 was found to accelerate the burning rate by three fold at two percent concentration and it can be exploited as potential energetic burning rate modifier for HTPB-AP propellants. Further, ignition delay studies showed that the deflagration of propellants and AP was accelerated by these additives.

Abstract: Under the natural environment, nutrient signals interact with phytohormones to coordinate and reprogram plant growth and survival. Sugars are important molecules that control almost all morphological and physiological processes in plants, ranging from seed germination to senescence. In addition to their functions as energy resources, osmoregulation, storage molecules, and structural components, sugars function as signaling molecules and interact with various plant signaling pathways, such as hormones, stress and light to modulate growth and development according to fluctuating environmental conditions. Auxin, being an important phytohormone, is associated with almost all stages of the plant's life cycle and also plays a vital role in response to the dynamic environment for better growth and survival. In the previous years, substantial progress has been made that showed a range of common responses mediated by sugars and auxin signaling. This review discusses how sugar signaling affects auxin at various levels from its biosynthesis to perception and downstream gene activation. On the same note, the review also highlights the role of auxin signaling in fine-tuning sugar metabolism and carbon partitioning. Furthermore, we discussed the crosstalk between the two signaling machineries in the regulation of various biological processes, such as gene expression, cell cycle, development, root system architecture and shoot growth. In conclusion, the review emphasized the role of sugar and auxin crosstalk in the regulation of several agriculturally important traits. Thus, engineering of sugar and auxin signaling pathways could potentially provide new avenues to manipulate for agricultural purposes. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Abstract: The variation of flow-variables with distance, in the flow-field behind a shock wave propagating in a dusty gas with exponentially varying density, are obtained at different times. The equilibrium flow conditions are assumed to be maintained, and the results are compared with those obtained for a perfect gas. It is found that the presence of small solid particles in the medium has significant effects on the variation of density and pressure.
