TL;DR: The present study showed that the histopathological changes were caused in kidney of rats by chlorpyrifos administration, and variable intensities of these changes were noticed depending upon the doses and duration of the treatment.
Abstract: Wistar rats (male) were divided into 3 groups - group A (GA) served as control, group B (GB) were daily administered chlorpyrifos (Anu Products Ltd., India) orally at a dose of 5 mg/kg b wt. and animals in group C (GC) received daily an oral administration of chlorpyrifos at a dose of 10 mg/kg b wt. Rats were sacrificed on 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th week after initiation of the experiment. Kidneys were extirpated and fixed in aqueous Bouin's solution. The tissues thus fixed were routinely processed for histological studies. The present study showed that the histopathological changes were caused in kidney of rats by chlorpyrifos administration. The changes noticed were mainly the shrinkage of glomerulus at initial stage of treatment, the tubular dilation, the glomerular hypercellularity, hypertrophy of tubular epithelium, degeneration of glomerulus and renal tubules, deposition of eosin-positive substances in the glomerulus and renal tubules and infiltration of leucocytes. A decrease in the body weight gain was observed in chlorpyrifos-treated rats. However, variable intensities of these changes were noticed depending upon the doses and duration of the treatment.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of a short-term optical monitoring program of 13 blazars for a total of ∼160 h between 2006 and 2011, where the objects were monitored mostly in the R band for a time interval of ∼ 160 h. The authors study the nature of the shortterm variations and show that most of them could be described as slow, smooth and (almost) linear changes of up to ∼0.1 mag h −1, but that many objects show no shortterm variability at all.
Abstract: In this paper we present the results of a short-term optical monitoring program of 13 blazars. The objects were monitored mostly in the R band for a total of ∼160 h between 2006 and 2011. We study the nature of the short-term variations and show that most of them could be described as slow, smooth and (almost) linear changes of up to ∼0.1 mag h −1 , but that many objects show no short-term variations at all. In fact, we found only a ∼2 per cent chance of observing variability of more than 0.1 mag h −1 for the sample we observed. Hints of quasiperiodic oscillations at very low-amplitude levels are also found for some objects. We briefly discuss some of the possible mechanisms for generating the intra-night variability and the quasi-periodic oscillations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of nanocrystalline cadmium oxide (CdO) and its characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were reported.
Abstract: In this paper, we report the synthesis of nanocrystalline cadmium oxide (CdO) and its characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Its catalytic activity was investigated on the thermal decomposition of 1,2,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetraazacyclooctane (HMX), ammonium perchlorate (AP), hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) and composite solid propellants (CSPs) using thermogravimetric analysis (TG), simultaneous thermogravimerty and differential scanning calorimetry (TG–DSC) and ignition delay measurements. Kinetics of thermal decomposition of AP + CdO has also been investigated using model free (isoconversional) and model-fitting approaches which have been applied to data for isothermal TG decomposition. All these studies show enhancement in the rate of decomposition of AP, HTPB and CSPs but no effect on HMX. The burning rate of CSPs has also been found to be increased with CdO nanocrystals.

TL;DR: A marked reduction of sulphate content in leaf was found during October when reduction in ambient air sulphur dioxide was recorded, and two way ANOVA finds the obtained values to be highly significant.
Abstract: Present study deals with the relationship between ambient air sulphur dioxide and sulphate content in leaf of selected tropical plant species, Ficus religiosa. The study reveals a positive correlation between ambient air sulphur dioxide and sulphate in the leaves. Two way ANOVA finds the obtained values to be highly significant (p<0.001). Amount of sulphate in leaves shows positive correlation with sulphur dioxide in air (p<0.001) during most part of the study. A marked reduction of sulphate content in leaf was found during October when reduction in ambient air sulphur dioxide was recorded.
