TL;DR: A real-time CD cover recognition using a cameraphone and fast and reliable image matching against a database of 10,000 CD covers is accomplished using a scalable vocabulary tree.
Abstract: Automatic CD cover recognition has interesting applications for comparison shopping and music sampling. We demonstrate a real-time CD cover recognition using a cameraphone. By snapping a picture of a CD cover with her cameraphone, a user can conveniently retrieve information related to the CD. Robust image feature extraction is applied to overcome the image distortions in the query photo. To limit the amount of data transmitted over a wireless network, we compress the query image or features extracted from the query image. On the database side, fast and reliable image matching against a database of 10,000 CD covers is accomplished using a scalable vocabulary tree.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and device for checking a telecommunication system with respect to an accurate routine detection of system-internal call data records is presented, where various communications connections are established and later terminated between two subscriber stations (2,3 ) via the telecommunication systems on the basis of predefined communication parameters.
Abstract: A method and device for checking a telecommunication system ( 4 ) with respect to an accurate routine detection of system-internal call data records ( 13, 14 ). Various communications connections are established and later terminated between two subscriber stations ( 2,3 ) via the telecommunication system ( 4 ) on the basis of predefined communication parameters; further call data records ( 10 a ,10 b ) are independently prepared and saved from these communications connections at both of these subscriber stations ( 2,3 ); and the system-internal call data records ( 101013 ) for said communications connections that are routinely created by the telecommunications system ( 4 ) itself, are compared to the further call data records ( 10 a , 10 b ).

TL;DR: The proposed architecture can be deployed by an IPTV provider over heterogeneous access networks (mobile, wireless, and fixed) as a part of standardized NGN solutions.
Abstract: This article presents an architecture to support IPTV services in an IMS-based NGN. The architecture extends the current IMS specification with the required functionality to meet additional requirements of IPTV services. The proposed architecture can be deployed by an IPTV provider over heterogeneous access networks (mobile, wireless, and fixed) as a part of standardized NGN solutions. After presenting an overview of the IPTV standardization activities in DVB, ITU-T, ETSI, ATIS, 3GPP, and OMA, this article focuses on the ETSI TISPAN IPTV standardization. IMS-based IPTV architectural functions and possible IPTV evolutionary steps are discussed, and then the article presents an implementation example.

TL;DR: The O-PIN can only be used to change the pin number to the initial pin number chosen by that user Once the OPIN has been used once to set the user's chosen pin number, it can not then be re-used as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The personal identification number (pin) generation and distribution procedure involves the initial setting of a personalised security module, esp a chip card, to a standardised pin number, designated by O-PIN This does not allow access to any of the normal functions of the card The O-PIN can only be used to change the pin number to the initial pin number chosen by that user Once the OPIN has been used once to set the user's chosen pin number, it can not then be re-used The user can check whether the card has been previously used by attempting to enter the O-PIN

TL;DR: A credit card with international standardisation of the external dimensions and the position of the contact areas of the implanted semiconductor chip 1 is constructed in such a manner that the semiconductor chips 1 is arranged on a removable plug-in part 3 which is significantly smaller in its dimensions compared with the credit card 2 as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A credit card 2 with international standardisation of the external dimensions and the position of the contact areas of the implanted semiconductor chip 1 is constructed in such a manner that the semiconductor chip 1 is arranged on a removable plug-in part 3 which is significantly smaller in its dimensions compared with the credit card 2. This plug-in part, together with the credit card surrounding it, remains useable for the previous credit card applications. If it is pressed out of the credit card, it can be applied as independent minichip card in much smaller terminals (Figure 1).
