Abstract: Purpose. Since the clear statement of the will-to-truth question as an existential has not been fulfilled before, this article is devoted to the solution of such a task. In connection with the above, the purpose of the study is to analyze the phenomenon of will to truth in the philosophy of pragmatism. This involves the following tasks: the definition of the basic principles of understanding the truth in the works of theorists of pragmatism; analysis of the phenomenon of «will to believe» in pragmatism; development and selection of the phenomenon of will to truth, its essence and factors within the framework of pragmatic philosophy. Methodology. The author used analytical, comparative and phenomenological methods in the research. Originality. For the first time, the paper articulates the existential of the will to truth, its essence and factors on the subject of the philosophy of pragmatism. Conclusions. The analysis of the phenomenon of «will to believe» in pragmatism proves that it can be interpreted as «will to truth», because belief in truth of something in pragmatism is inseparable from the truth itself and practice. Within the framework of pragmatic philosophy, the author has determined the essence of will-to-truth phenomenon, which is understood as the aspiration of man to a stable and relevant to reality and his own goals persuasion in relation to himself and reality. The main factors of this phenomenon in pragmatism are doubts (doubts are defined as a prerequisite for the establishment of belief (beliefs), which gives a person confidence in the positive decision of certain life tasks) and persistent belief (truth) that enables a person to succeed and achieve his goals. That is precisely the result of the man's will to truth: the existence of man is determined by the fact that a person prefers to know how to act.

Abstract: Purpose. The success of the traffic on the railways of Ukraine depends on the number and the operational fleet of electric locomotives. Today, the locomotive depot exploit physically and morally outdated locomotives that have low reliability. Modernization of electric locomotives is not economically justified. The aim of this study is to improve the safety of the traction rolling stock by the frequency analysis of dynamical systems, which allows conducting the calculation of the natural (of resonant) frequencies of the design and related forms of vibrations. Methodology. The study was conducted by methods of analytical mechanics and mathematical modeling of operating loads of freight locomotive when driving at different speeds on the straight and curved track sections. The theoretical value of the work is the technique of choice of constructive schemes and rational parameters of perspective electric locomotive taking into account the electric inertia ratios and stiffness coefficients of Lagrange second-order equations. Findings. The problems of theoretical research and the development of a mathematical model of the spatial electric vibrations are solved. The theoretical studies of the effect of inertia ratios and stiffness coefficients on the dynamic values and the parameter values of electric locomotive undercarriages are presented. Originality. The set of developed regulations and obtained results is a practical solution to selecting rational parameters of bogies of the freight mainline locomotive for railways of Ukraine. A concept of choice of constructive scheme and rational parameters of perspective locomotive is formulated. It is developed the method of calculation of spatial electric locomotive oscillations to determine its dynamic performance. The software complex for processing the data of experimental studies of dynamic parameters of electric locomotive and comparing the results of the theoretical calculations with the data of full-scale tests is implemented. Practical value. The theoretical study allows objectively assessing the impact of the partial frequency of electric locomotive elements on both the rational parameters of its underframe, and the performance and physiological condition of the locomotive crew. Thus, the practical value of the whole complex of theoretical research was to develop an algorithm and program, choosing rational parameters and design scheme of electric locomotive running gear. Using a software package for the study of spatial fluctuations of electric locomotive made it possible to evaluate the dynamic performance of the electric locomotive underframe with sufficient accuracy for practical problems.

Abstract: Purpose. The article aims to develop 2D numerical models for the prediction of atmospheric pollution during transportation of coal in the railway car, as well as the ways to protect the environment and the areas near to the mainline from the dust emission due to the air injection installation. Methodology. To solve this problem there were developed numerical models based on the use of the equations of motion of an inviscid incompressible fluid and mass transfer. For the numerical integration of the transport equation of the pollutant the implicit alternating-triangular difference scheme was used. For numerical integration of the 2D equation for the velocity potential the method of total approximation was used. The developed numerical models are the basis of established software package. On the basis of the constructed numerical models it was carried out a computational experiment to assess the level of air pollution when transporting bulk cargo by rail when the railway car has the air injection. Findings. 2D numerical models that belong to the class «diagnostic models» were developed. These models take into account the main physical factors affecting the process of dispersion of dust pollution in the atmosphere during transportation of bulk cargo. The developed numerical models make it possible to calculate the dust loss process, taking into account the use of the air injection of the car. They require a small cost of the computer time during practical realization at the low and medium power machines. There were submitted computational calculations to determine pollutant concentrations and the formation of the zone of pollution near the train with bulk cargo in «microscale» scale taking into account the air curtains. Originality. 2D numerical models taking into account the relevant factors influencing the process of dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere, and the formation of the zone of pollution during transportation of bulk cargo by rail were created. A way to protect the atmosphere from pollution during the emission of bulk cargoes from the rail car, which is based on the principle of the air injection, was developed. Practical value. The efficient numerical models which can be used in the development of environmental protection measures in the operation of railway transport were considered. The proposed model allows calculating 2D dynamics of wind flow, taking into account the installed air injection, and mass transfer process of pollutants in the atmosphere.
