Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this work is to determine the energy losses in the shock absorber of the freight car whose wheel-set moves in the derailed state on the track panel depending on the axle load and structural parameters of spring suspension Methodology On the basis of spring suspension construction analysis and operating principle of the friction shock absorber of the freight car bogie the authors provide the method for determining the energy absorbed by it The calculations take the maximum values of the absorber elements displacement and the regulatory values of spring suspension parameters Findings The authors obtained the calculated formula for determining the energy absorbed by shock absorber for regulation-set mounting schemes of elastic bogie elements depending on the axial load The mentioned curves are parabolic Originality The work examines the crash mode of the wheel-set movement on the track panels after its derailment It is shown that the energy dissipation in the shock absorbers is the reason for increase in resistance to rolling stock movement The formulas for calculating the amount of energy dissipated in the shock absorber with a maximum displacement of its elements are derived This energy depends on the axle load and structural parameters of spring suspension Practical value The proposed method allows setting the value of the additional resistance to motion that occurs in crash mode which makes it possible to increase the accuracy of traction calculations

Abstract: Purpose. We aim to investigate the development conditions of structural transformations during friction stir welding (FSW); establish the nature of individual influence of structural components in achieving superplastic flow conditions; determine the influence nature of grain size on the groundmass microhardness during FSW. Methodology. Friction stir welding was performed on specially designed equipment. The material was 2.9 mm thick AMg6 aluminum alloy plates with the chemical content of alloying elements within the grade composition. The temperature and pressure from the tool on the edges during welding were determined on a specially designed stand. The tool pressing force to the metal was measured with a dynamometer type DC-0.1. Microhardness measured on the PMT-3 device with the indentation load of 0.05 N was taken as a characteristic of alloy microvolumes strength. Findings. Different degrees of rotation of the working tool and normal pressure to the edges determined the degree of metal heating and the quality of the seam formation. The influence degree of the technological parameters of the FSW on the metal heating temperature in the area of the working tool shoulder is estimated. The development of recrystallization processes in the conditions of two-phase alloys is considered. It has been shown that collective recrystallization is less determined by the volume fraction of the second phase, its dispersity and ability to interact with the metal matrix. The effect of the temperature gradient on the microhardness for the structures of the heat-affected zone is estimated under conditions of a practically unchanged grain morphology. Originality. The conditions for the development of structural transformations during friction stir welding and the influence mechanism of grain size on the matrix microhardness are determined. Exceeding the optimum temperature in the joint area during welding contributes to the diffusion accelerating along the boundaries between phases and grains, resulting in the formation of a concentration gradient of alloying elements and, first of all Mg, increasing the hardening effect of the solid solution state. Practical value. According to the results, the additive character of the hardening from the influence of the solid solution and grain boundaries under the conditions of superplastic flow is determined. A state close to the superplastic flow is achieved by reducing the effect of hardening the solid solution and increasing the contribution from the small grains boundaries. Achieving a state of superplastic deformation is possible by minimizing the effect of strain hardening.

Abstract: Purpose . Based on the understanding of The New Time philosophy as a response to the challenges of the era in relation to the construction of an objective picture of the world and the self-creation of man, to analyze the main options for evaluating the ambivalence of the basic intention of the philosophy of Descartes in the research literature and to clarify the nature of ambiguity. To justify the dominant nature of anthropological intention in the text of the «Rules for Guiding the Mind in Searching for the Truth». Novelty . The nature of the ambivalence of the basic intention of the text of the "Rules" is clarified as a form of two basic existences, opposite to the New Time, namely the query on the objectivity of scientific knowledge and inquiry in anthropology as a cornerstone of philosophy. The author of the article proves the domination of anthropological component of the text «The Rules» in front of scientific knowledge. Conclusions . The main manifestations of ambivalence of basic directivity of philosophizing of Rene Descartes to construction of an objective picture of the world and self-creation of person were described. The determining influence on the process of the establishment of basic intention of the specificity of the experience of mathematical knowledge and Plato’s and Aristotle’s tradition of philosophizing for the first, and of personal tradition of Christianity in the second place was emphasized. In the reference to the text «The Rules» of Descartes the ambiguity of the basic direction was argued, the nature and domination of the anthropological intention were justified.

Abstract: Цель. Данное исследование направлено на разработку метода оценки потенциального территориального риска при авариях на железнодорожном транспорте, учитывающего специфику эмиссии химически опасных веществ при чрезвычайных ситуациях во время их транспортировки. Методика. Основу предложенного метода составляет численное моделирование процесса переноса химически опасного вещества в атмосфере. Основой численной модели является уравнение массопереноса химически опасных веществ. Данное уравнение учитывает рассеивание в атмосфере опасного вещества за счет ветра и атмосферной диффузии. Для численного интегрирования уравнения переноса химически опасного вещества в атмосфере применяется неявная разностная схема расщепления. На основе построенной численной модели разработан метод оценки потенциального территориального риска и создан код на алгоритмическом языке Фортран. Разработанный метод пространственно-временной оценки территориального риска учитывает: вероятные метеоситуации; режим эмиссии химически опасного вещества; мощность эмиссии; движение источника эмиссии. Проведен вычислительный эксперимент по оценке уровня загрязнения атмосферы над поселком Синельниково при аварийной утечке аммиака. Результаты. Предложенный метод позволяет оперативно рассчитать возможный потенциальный риск утечки химически опасных веществ на основе расчета уровня загрязнения атмосферы при различных метеоситуациях. Метод позволяет определить размеры зоны токсичного поражения людей и оценить уровень опасности аварий на железнодорожном транспорте. С помощью разработанной численной модели выполнена оценка риска поражения людей в селитебной зоне поселка Синельниково. Научная новизна. Учеными создан метод оценки потенциального территориального риска, основанный на численном моделировании процесса загрязнения атмосферы. Выполнен расчет потенциального риска для селитебной зоны поселка Синельниково. Практическая значимость. Разработанный метод оценки потенциального риска может быть использован не только для решения задач данного класса для объектов железнодорожного транспорта, но и для других химически опасных объектов. С помощью разработанного метода выполнена оценка потенциального риска для поселка Синельниково в случае аварийной эмиссии аммиака.

Abstract: Purpose. Based on actualization of gender discursive features, the current piece aims to clarify and accentuate the manifestation of gender-philosophical ideas interaction: feminism in the framework of objectivism. The source material for the current article is a novel by Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged", which is a philosophical work on objectivism. Theoretical basis. The development of the gender discourse, in particular the discourse of feminism is researched from the retrospective angle. This piece is an attempt to underline peculiarities of female artistic images representation in Rand’s work and the way Rand’s novel influenced the logical development of feminist discourse. Discourse of feminism is a rather peculiar notion for Objectivism, where the notion of gender is, theoretically, annihilated as far as gender is irrelevant for both personal and professional growth, however, practically, gender representation and actualization is ubiquitous in Rand’s philosophy. Originality. The distinctive features of gender discourse in Objectivism are highlighted in this piece; the results are based on the application of comparative analysis. It is argued that philosophy itself may well be perceived through a literary work of fiction, thus making artistic images prototypes of philosophy functionaries. Conclusion. "Atlas Shrugged" is not merely a literary fiction, but rather a philosophical treatise on Objectivism, which is a philosophy of individual struggle and achievement. The main female protagonist of "Atlas Shrugged", Dagny Taggart, is a staunch supporter of Objectivism. In Rand’s opinion Dagny Taggart is a prototype of a true woman of utopian American capitalist society, and it is her artistic image that was misinterpreted by supporters of feminist movement ideas and Dagny Taggart became an icon of feminism, whereas in reality Dagny’s discourse is rather a discourse of femininity, for Dagny despises everything that is connected with feminist ideas and practices, and, it is an error to weave her discourse into a much wider feminist discourse.
