Abstract: Purpose. Modern transport systems are not stable and can not stand up to the destabilizing factors. Global track record in the economic and commercial management systems is the use of the concept of sustainable development. It is necessary on the basis of analysis of literary sources to define the directions of efficiency increase of functioning of railway transport subdivisions from the point of view of sustainable development. Methodology. To achieve the purpose the features of the use of sustainable development conception and its realization were investigated at a management of the complex systems. The existent models were also analyzed in the field of efficiency increase of functioning of railway transport subdivisions. Findings. On the basis of literary sources analysis, keeping up the conceptual essence of the sustainable development, the main directions of efficiency increase of subdivisions functioning were selected. They take into account the basic requirements of steady development and should be considered as a complex. Originality. New directions to consider the efficiency increase issues from position of sustainable development were offered by the author. Three components of conceptions of sustainable development (economic, ecological and social) should be examined in a balanced way. Thus, the above mentioned theoretical studies can promote the forming of new economy model corresponding to the purposes and principles of sustainable development. Practical value. The conducted analysis development confirms the necessity of researches on perspective directions of development of railway transport subdivisions, which are marked by the guidance of Ukrzaliznytsia. It enables to select basic directions for further research in the area of efficiency increase.

Abstract: Purpose . Efficient use of natural energy resources is one of the priorities of the state policy in the sphere of universities and institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Besides search and development the new efficient and clean energy systems it is necessary to implement optimal management of the development and operation of existing facilities, reducing their energy costs. Purpose of this work is to develop consumption volume technology of electricity and heat by scientific departments of Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan (DNURT) for further finding the ways to reduce energy consumption. The problem is due to the specifics of University’s energy scheme. There is a difficulty for the installation of energy meters and data acquisition about their use in individual branches and structural units. At the same time it is impossible to assess qualitatively the energy position of scientific departments. Methodology. The method to determine the electricity and heat consumption for space heating of scientific departments at the university is based on « The intersectoral rules of electricity and heat energy for institutions and public sector organizations in Ukraine » and « Codes and regulations on rationing of fuel and heat energy for heating the residential buildings as well as for economic needs in Ukraine » . Findings. Developed determining expenditure technology of electricity and heat for heating by scientific departments at the DNURT named after Academician V. Lazaryan allows obtaining data on energy consumption in individual units without direct measure and analyzing the effectiveness of energy saving technologies. Originality. It is represented by energy costs in the form of two components and these components are defined on the basis of the energy audit. This enables the energy inputs to implement energy efficiency measures in the research departments of the university. P ractical value. The developed method can be used as practical tools to monitor energy consumption in the above mentioned university and in similar facilities.

Abstract: Purpose. The article provides for finding solution to the problem of developing and improving the means for measuring tachometric data of the previously created information and measuring system for testing hydraulic locomotive transmission by substantiating the optimal sensor design and signal processing algorithms. At the same time first of all it is necessary to start from the possibility of modifying the already existing test bench for hydraulic locomotive transmissions at the Dnipropetrovsk diesel locomotive repair plant «Promteplovoz». Methodology . In the work, the researchers proposed a methodology for modifying the sensor design and the algorithm for processing its signals. It is grounded on previous developments of tachometric sensor of the optical type on the basis of D-2MMU-2 sensor of the microprocessor automated test bench system of hydraulic locomotive transmission in the locomotive repair plant conditions. Selection of the necessary measurement algorithm and the number of sensor teeth is substantiated by calculating instrumental and methodological errors. Also, the studies aimed at identifying the source of interference in the measurement of rotational speed are described and solution for its elimination has been found. Findings. For the designed rotation speed sensor of the optical type based on the existing D-2MMU-2 sensor, the authors analyzed the dependence of the methodological and instrumental errors. Based on the obtained data more rational variant of the rotation speed calculation algorithm is proposed, and the number of teeth of the sensor disk is justified. Further, the main source of measurement interference was established and a method for improving the hardware of the hydraulic locomotive test bench was proposed. Originality. There were conducted the studies according to the methodological and instrumental errors of the designed rotation speed of sensor. The mechanisms of interference filtering arising from the sensor rotation speed fixing were proposed. Additional studies have shown the need for a hardware revision of signal conditioner scheme. Practical value. Conducted studies make it possible to establish a rational number of sensor disk teeth, which allows improving the measurement algorithm. It was also performed a hardware improvement of signal conditioner scheme from the sensor, helping to get rid of interferences. The results of measurements in studies are the initial data to perform further studies in order to determine the technical condition of hydraulic transmission UGP 750-1200 during factory testing after repair.

Abstract: Purpose . Clarification of safety criteria of the wheels derailment from the rails using either the lateral or the directing force. Methodology . Technique is connected with the analysis of safety criteria expressions of the wheels derailment from the rails, which use the lateral or the directing force in the position of limit equilibrium of the system, as well as with the analysis of expressions for the coefficient of stability from the wheels derailment from the rails when using the specified criteria. Findings . It is shown that the safety criteria of derailment, representing either the ratio of the lateral force to vertical one or the directing force ratio to the vertical one, which operate in the contact point of the climbing wheel flange with the rail head, are equivalent. As for the stability coefficient of derailment, it is shown that near to the safety limit their use yields almost the same results. Originality . The concept of the safety criteria, using the lateral or directing forces is specified and their equivalence is shown. Practical value . Obtained results allow one to use one of these two safety criteria expressions instead of two expressions cited in the normative literature, which gives the number of advantages for the processing of testing results. And the recommendations on the use of criteria, in which the ratio of lateral or directing forces to the vertical force acting in the contact point of the climbing wheel flange with the rail head were given.
