03 Mar 2005TL;DR: In this article, a stator with a slotted lamination stack for defining a set of slots that are separated by teeth is used for a motor with an annular shaped jumper ring and radial projections.
Abstract: The motor has a stator with a slotted lamination stack for defining a set of slots that are separated by teeth The lamination stack includes an end face with a set of annular shaped jumper rings (11-13) and neutral ring (14) The neutral ring includes a set of radial projections which extend along predetermined stator teeth to the head, insulated from the teeth The projections have free ends for contacting partial windings

26 Sep 2003TL;DR: In this article, a heat transfer and fluid cooling system has a heat exchanger (20) extracting heat from a circuit module (21) and a fluid pump (24) pushing air through the fluid-air heat exchange by a fan driven by an electric motor.
Abstract: The heat transfer and fluid cooling system (10) has a heat exchanger (20) extracting heat from a circuit module (12). Cool fluid flows through a pipe (32) to a junction (40) and heated fluid flows through a junction (42) to a pipe (23) leading to a fluid-air heat exchanger (28). Air is pushed through the fluid-air heat exchanger by a fan (30) driven by an electric motor which also drives a fluid pump (24). Fluid-tight seals separate the fluid pump from the fan.

16 Jun 2011TL;DR: In this paper, an electronic commutation control is used for the time offset control of stator coils of the motor of a rotational motor, which produces the magnetic rotating field for a rotor depending on the rotor rotation position.
Abstract: The control circuit (1) has a semiconductor end stage (2) that is controlled by an electronic commutation control (4) through a driver stage (6) for the time offset control of stator coils of the motor (M). The motor produces the magnetic rotating field for a rotor depending on the rotor rotation position. Two redundant stall protection units (10,12) monitor the motor during rotating operation of the rotor. The stall protection unit (10) deactivates driver stage and stall protection unit (12) shuts off the supply voltage for driver stage.

12 Oct 2007TL;DR: In this article, a radial fan is arranged in a housing with a regulating valve for regulating the amount of gas in the radial fan and a valve seat is formed in the interior of the housing.
Abstract: The radial fan (1) comprises a housing (2) in which a radial fan wheel is arranged, and with a regulating valve (3) for regulating the amount of gas. The regulating valve comprises a valve seat (4). The valve seat of the regulating valve is formed from a part of the housing. The valve seat is formed in the interior of the housing.

01 Jan 2011TL;DR: In this article, the development of two small high performance single stage diagonal fans is described and the design objectives and constraints are discussed and the aero/acoustic performance of the new fan is compared to an existing diagonal fan.
Abstract: The development of two small high performance single stage diagonal fans is described. The design objectives and constraints are discussed and the aero-/acoustic performance of the new fan is compared to an existing diagonal fan. For the aerodynamic design, the maximum flow coefficient and the maximum pressure coefficient at stall are prescribed together with geometrical constraints on outer diameter and axial space. The aerodesign is carried out using a through-flow method and 3D CFD. Two design variants are presented, a design with guide vanes for pressure recovery and a variant with struts optimized for low noise. The numerical predictions are compared to experimental data. The agreement between the predicted performance and the experimental data is sufficient for design purposes. Compared to the existing diagonal fan, the new fan shows significant improvements in terms of efficiency, performance and noise without compromising versatility and overall dimensions.Copyright © 2011 by ASME
