01 May 2019TL;DR: The optimization of a new topology comprising a high speed motor and a magnetic gear is discussed and first measurements of a prototype are presented.
Abstract: Light weight and high power density are contemporary demands on electrical motors in a lot of industrial and transportation applications. By designing high-speed devices, the output power can be increased without affecting construction volume and weight. If an application requires low output speeds, a gearing function has to be added. In this paper, the optimization of a new topology comprising a high speed motor and a magnetic gear is discussed. Also, first measurements of a prototype are presented.

18 Jan 2007TL;DR: In this article, an externally controllable laser is used to balance a fan having a rotor in a housing with the fan comprising material that the laser beam can process, and the beam is then directed to remove material from this region to restore balance.
Abstract: A method of balancing a fan having a rotor in a housing comprises using an externally controllable laser with the fan comprising material that the laser beam can process. The housing has a section through which the beam can pass and the region causing imbalance is determined by rotating the fan. The laser beam is then directed to remove material from this region to restore balance. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) An arrangement for the method above; (B) A balanced fan as above;and (C) A fan as above comprising plastic material.

18 May 2000TL;DR: In this paper, an operating method is carried out using a microcontroller (23) or a microprocessor and a non-transient memory (74) for controlling the electric motor.
Abstract: The operating method is carried out using a microcontroller (23) or a microprocessor and a non-transient memory (74) for controlling the electric motor (32). With the occurrence of a fault, at least one operating data value, such as the rotation speed of the electric motor, is automatically stored in the non-transient memory. Routinely important operating parameters can be monitored from time to time and the measured values are then processed and compared with stored values. Independent claims are included for an electric motor device.

09 Sep 2010TL;DR: In this article, a single-sided rotor base is used for enclosing stator as a part of motor housing with high degree of protection system of Ingress Protection 54 according to DIN/international electro-technical commission-EN 60034part 5.
Abstract: The rotor (1) has a rotor socket (2) provided with a peripheral wall (4) and a single-sided rotor base (6) for enclosing stator as a part of motor housing with high degree of protection system of Ingress Protection 54according to DIN/international electro-technical commission-EN 60034-part 5. The rotor socket comprises a heat sink (12) with high thermal conductivity such the motor heat that occurs in an inner side is discharged to surrounding area via the heat sink through the rotor base. The heat sink is formed as a single-piece disk-type cooling element (20).
