TL;DR: In this paper, a closed blower wheel with a rearside disc provided with a plate-shaped edge and a flat front cover disc with a smaller diameter than the rear side disc and blades between the discs was used to close the flow path on the inside of the tubular casing.
Abstract: The blower wheel is provided with a fixed guide. In the tubular casing (1) are fixed a disc-shaped inflow nozzle (3), with a circular opening in the area of the motor shaft (4), and an electric motor (2). It has a closed blower wheel with a rearside disc provided with a plate-shaped edge (9), a flat front cover disc (11) with a smaller diameter than the rearside disc and blades (12) between the discs. Within the casing is a deflecting disc (15), the diameter of which is smaller than that of the rearside disc (10) and which has a ring-shaped gap (14) narrowing the flow path on the inside of the tubular casing. The electric motor is arranged in the flow direction in front of the other parts in the tubular casing.

15 Mar 2013TL;DR: In this paper, a guide inlet opening is configured on a suction side at an axial height in front of a flow-inlet opening of a bar structure formed by a grid structure consisting of intersecting grid bars with the grid openings enclosed by grid bars.
Abstract: The device has a guide inlet opening that is configured on a suction side at an axial height in front of a flow inlet opening (15) of a bar structure and formed with opening surface smaller than flow inlet opening. The bar structure is formed by a grid structure consisting of intersecting grid bars with the grid openings enclosed by grid bars. The grid bars are provided such that the ratio of height to thickness of grid bars is greater than 5. The grid openings are provided such that the ratio of a peripheral grid width to radial width of openings lies in a range between 1/ 3-3.

01 Oct 2005TL;DR: In this article, a fan for cooling a circuit board has a fan wheel (10; 10 ′) that is adapted for rotation about a rotation axis and in a predetermined rotation direction, and an outer wall that is rigidly joined to an inner wall.
Abstract: A fan for cooling a circuit board ( 26 ) has a fan wheel ( 10; 10 ′) that is adapted for rotation about a rotation axis ( 11 ) and in a predetermined rotation direction ( 14 ), and an outer wall ( 18 ) that is rigidly joined to an inner wall ( 16 ). Defined between the two walls ( 16, 18 ) are curved air-directing conduits ( 39 ) that extend from an axial air entrance opening ( 40 ) to a radial air exit opening ( 42 ). The axial air entrance opening ( 40 ) is at a lesser distance from the rotation axis than the radial air exit opening ( 42 ), and the air-directing conduits ( 39 ) are separated from one another by air-directing blades ( 30, 32, 34, 36, 38 ) that each extend, oppositely to the predetermined rotation direction ( 14 ), from a point between two adjacent air entrance openings ( 40 ) to a point between two adjacent air exit openings ( 42 ).

10 Jun 2003TL;DR: In this paper, a polyphase brushless DC motor comprising a permanent magnet rotor (28), polyphase stator (22, 24, 26), and polyphase full-bridge circuit is presented.
Abstract: Disclosed is a polyphase brushless DC motor (20) comprising a permanent-magnet rotor (28), a polyphase stator (22, 24, 26), and a polyphase full-bridge circuit that is assigned to the polyphase stator (22, 24, 26) and is provided with a plurality of bridge branches, each of which is provided with an upper field-effect power transistor (90, 108, 120) that is connected to a positive line (22) and a lower field-effect power transistor (96, 112, 124) that is connected to a negative line (100). Said motor (20) also comprises a rotor position sensor arrangement (30, 32, 34) which generates a plurality of mutually phase-shifted sensor signals (H1, H2, H3) when the motor (20) is in an operating state, the analogous value of said sensor signals (H1, H2, H3) depending on a rotor position-dependent physical variable that acts upon the rotor position sensor arrangement. Signals (54, 56, 58) that are derived from the rotor position sensor arrangement (30, 32, 34) are compared with a periodic sawtooth signal (u70) so as to obtain a plurality of comparative PWM signals (PWM1, PWM2, PWM3), the pulse duty factor of which is a function of the momentary value of the associated sensor signal (H1, H2, H3). The information contained in a comparative PWM signal is supplied to the two power field effect transistors (90, 96; 108, 112; 120, 124) of an associated bridge branch via one respective driver (86, 104, 116) in the form of signals that are in phase opposition in order to trigger said field effect transistors in a hard chopping mode and allow multiquadrant operation of the motor (20).
