TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examine and analyse where and how information and communication technologies (ICT) are integrated in Singapore schools to engage students in higher-order thinking activities, taking the activity system as a unit of analysis.
Abstract: This paper examines and analyses where and how information and communication technologies (ICT) are integrated in Singapore schools to engage students in higher-order thinking activities. Taking the activity system as a unit of analysis, the study documents the actual processes and sociocultural elements that engage students in higher-order thinking. By employing methods such as observations, focus group discussions with students, and face-to-face interviews with teachers, ICT-coordinators and principals, an account of how the activity systems within and between classrooms, and the schools are generated. Based on the analysis of the data from 10 schools, issues in the learning environment are discussed: Necessary (classroom management and orienting activities) and sufficient conditions (scaffolding activities and supporting school policies) for effective ICT integration in the classroom. The account also highlights the constraints of time and lack of knowledge and experience in the contexts that the teachers are working under, and how these constraints are addressed by supporting school policies in the larger sociocultural setting of the school. This account provides a sample of pedagogical and sociocultural issues that are discussed over the course and at the end of the project. Like a good guidebook, the study sensitizes the audience to what is likely to happen given a particular objective, constraint, or design.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the conceptualisation and measurement of the service quality construct and its relationship to behavioural intention through an application of the importance-performance technique within the Australian wine tourism industry.
Abstract: This paper seeks to investigate the conceptualisation and measurement of the service quality construct and its relationship to behavioural intention through an application of the importance‐performance technique within the Australian wine tourism industry. Many winery operators invite customers to their winery and the quality of service during the visit can impact on future wine sales. Research undertaken among a sample of visitors to Australian vineyards showed that service process factors were more closely linked to wine purchase than tangible elements. The study also provides further support for the use of importance‐performance models of service quality, as this measure was found to be significantly related to two dimensions of behavioural intention.

TL;DR: An analysis with respect to the variation of moment invariants on image geometric transformation is presented, so as to analyze the effect of image's scaling and rotation.
Abstract: Moment invariants have been widely applied to image pattern recognition in a variety of applications due to its invariant features on image translation, scaling and rotation. The moments are strictly invariant for the continuous function. However, in practical applications images are discrete. Consequently, the moment invariants may change over image geometric transformation. To address this research problem, an analysis with respect to the variation of moment invariants on image geometric transformation is presented, so as to analyze the effect of image's scaling and rotation. Finally, the guidance is also provided for minimizing the fluctuation of moment invariants.

TL;DR: This literature review exposes the nature and extent of physical and psychosocial morbidity and economic disadvantage, home palliative caregivers suffer as a direct result of their caregiving role and recommendations for enhancing caregiver support are outlined.
Abstract: This literature review exposes the nature and extent of physical and psychosocial morbidity and economic disadvantage, home palliative caregivers suffer as a direct result of their caregiving role. Research has demonstrated that caregivers providing support to individuals receiving palliative care report unmet needs for information, communication, service provision and support from health and community services. Three sets of challenges are highlighted in this literature review which help explain why the needs of home palliative caregivers are largely unmet: (i) barriers to seeking help; (ii) a dearth of research-based interventions focused on reducing the negative aspects of caregiving; and (iii) a number of impediments to effective policy and service development for family caregivers. Furthermore, invited submissions from caregivers echoed and confirmed the issues reported in the literature. Recommendations for enhancing caregiver support are outlined.
