TL;DR: The present data indicate that anxiogenic effects resulting from under- and overcrowding should be taken into consideration in behavioral studies.

TL;DR: A new species of Eudendrium from the Chafarinas Islands (south-western Mediterranean) is described, the distinctive character of this species is its association with symbiotic zooxanthellae, a feature in common with Myrionema, the only other genus of the family EUDendriidae.
Abstract: A new species of Eudendrium from the Chafarinas Islands (south-western Mediterranean) is described. The distinctive character of this species is its association with symbiotic zooxanthellae, a feature in common with Myrionema, the only other genus of the family Eudendriidae. The evolutionary implications of this similarity are discussed. A review of the Mediterranean species of Eudendriidae is presented, including data on the cnidome when available, biological data from the material studied, and a key to identify the Mediterranean species.

TL;DR: The results show that the campus of Universidade de Sao Paulo in Ribeirao Preto is able to maintain bee populations amid a monoculture matrix, acting as a refuge, and provides a list of several attractive native plants to different pollinator groups, coupled with a phenogram, that can be used in the design and planning of urban areas.

TL;DR: In this paper, polypyridyl complexes of ruthenium in aqueous media were studied and a relationship between redox potential (E 1/2 ) of the complexes and reactivity was established.
Abstract: 1-pentanol, 1-4-butanediol, 1,2-butanediol, 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol and phthalic alcohol were oxidized electrocatalytically by polypyridyl complexes of ruthenium in aqueous media. [Ru II (tpy)(bpy)(OH 2 )] 2+ , [Ru II (bpy) 2 py(OH 2 )] 2+ (py=pyridine), [Ru II (tpy)(phen)(OH 2 )] 2+ (phen=1,10-phenanthroline), cis -[Ru II (bpy) 2 (OH 2 ) 2 ] 2+ , trans -[Ru II (bpy) 2 (OH 2 ) 2 ] 2+ and trans -[Ru VI (trpy)(O) 2 (OH 2 )] 2+ were the studied complexes. A relationship between redox potential ( E 1/2 ) of the complexes and reactivity was established.

TL;DR: Examination of the effects of decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE)-209 on different functions of HepG2 cells and whether this congener is involved in mitochondrial toxicity suggest that short-duration exposure to 0.5 μM or 5 μM BDE-209 concentrations diminished HepG1 cell viability due to apoptosis associated with mitochondrial dysfunction.
Abstract: Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) are ubiquitous environmental pollutants. Exposure to these chemicals has been associated with developmental neurotoxicity, endocrine dysfunctions, reproductive...
