TL;DR: In this article, the spatial distribution pattern of the Rhynchophorus palmarum (L) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in oil palm plantations with geo-statistical procedures in the south of the state of Roraima, Brazil.
Abstract: Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is an African palm that is distinguished by its elevated oil production per unit area, however, fitossanitary problems are one of its the main drawbacks. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the spatial distribution pattern of the Rhynchophorus palmarum (L) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in oil palm plantations with geo-statistical procedures in the south of the state of Roraima, Brazil. The 25 ha of experimental area is located in the municilaity of Sao Joao da Baliza, RR, where 24 samples were carried out in the period from September 2013 to August 2014. For the insects collection, a buckettype trap with food attractant (sugarcane) was placed in each one of the 100 sampling points. Analyses of spatial variability and spatial dependence were held by the incorporation of geo-statistical procedures based on spatial modeling techniques by semivariagrams. The spatial distribution of the R. palmarum is aggregated with spatial dependence described by the spherical model, forming clusters of 100 to 210 m radius. It was observed that R. palmarum infestation takes place both in the center just as on the edges of the plantation, with later dissemination to the entire area. The maximum range found in the study was of 210 m, with an area of influence of 13.9 ha.

TL;DR: Cassava, cv.
Abstract: Cassava has a long cycle and slow initial growth, which facilitates development of weeds that will compete with the culture. It was aimed to evaluate the tolerance of cassava cultivar Aciolina, the different herbicides in the early stages of crop development. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, in a completely randomized design with four replications. The evaluated treatments were: haloxyfop (60 g ha -1 a.i.), lactofen (180 g ha -1 a.i.), chorimuron-ethyl (17.5 g ha -1 a.i.), bentazon (576 g ha -1 a.i.), bentazon + imazamox (600 + 28 g ha -1 a.i.), imazethapyr (100 g ha -1 a.i.), fomesafen (250 g ha -1 a.i.), quizalofop-P-ethyl (62.5 g ha -1 a.i.), lactofen + quizalofop-P-ethyl (180 + 62.5 g ha -1 a.i.), fomesafen + quizalofop-P-ethyl (250 + 62.5 g ha -1 a.i.), and a control. Were performed visual assessments of intoxication, plant height and number of leaves, dry mass of the leaves, stem, root dry mass total and leaf area. The herbicides bentazon, fomesafen and fomesafen + quizalofop-P-ethyl caused high injury but not affect the development of plants. The imazethapyr herbicide interfered in development of culture by reducing in 58.03% the height and 35.87% dry weight of plants. Deformations were observed in young leaves with treatment bentazon + imazamox. The use of lactofen + quizalofop-P-ethyl resulted in plant death, the use of lactofen significantly reduced all variables. Cassava, cv. Aciolina, showed tolerance to herbicides haloxyfop and quizalofop and chlorimuron-ethyl. The lactofen, imazethapyr, bentazon + imazamox and quizalofop + lactofen cause severe damage to the cassava crop.

TL;DR: The highest sugar apple seedling emergence speed and growth rate were obtained when the seeds were subjected to the method of scarification and soaking in GA3 for 12-24 h, which resulted in greater economy, practicality and financial savings.
Abstract: Cultivation of sugar apple has increased in the Setentrional Amazon, but one of the problems for obtaining quality seedlings is related to overcoming dormancy of its seeds. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the efficiency of physical and chemical methods to break sugar apple seed dormancy. Ripe sugar apple fruit were collected from an orchard located in Boa Vista-RR, pulped and their seeds washed in running water and dried in the shade for 24 h. A completely randomized experimental design was used in a factorial 2 (0 and 1000 mg L–1 GA3 = gibberellic acid) × 4 immersion times (0, 6, 12 and 24 h) × 2 (with and without scarification) with 4 replications and 50 seeds per replication. The seeds were then sown in beds under greenhouse-type shade with 50% brightness in soil and sand mixture (3:1 v / v) subtrate. The following were evaluated 30 days after sowing: percentage of emergence (%) and shoot growth after seedling emergence, at four-day intervals. At fifty‑eight days after sowing, the shoot and root lengths, number of leaves, shoot and root dry matter were assessed. The highest sugar apple seedling emergence speed and growth rate were obtained when the seeds were subjected to the method of scarification and soaking in GA3 for 12-24 h. Scarification and soaking in water for 24 h resulted in greater economy, practicality and financial savings.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results of an exploración of the proceso de escolarización de los estudiantes de Educación Especial in las escuelas públicas de educación primaria and secundaria de la ciudad de Boa Vista.
