TL;DR: A new species of Ulmeritoides Traver, 1959 is described based on all life stages from Roraima State, Northern Brazil and has a forewing coloration and penis shape similar to that of the widespread species U. uruguayensis (Traver), but it differs from the latter by the shape of the penis lobe apex in the male imago and by the lines of pectinate setae in the nymph.
Abstract: A new species of Ulmeritoides Traver, 1959 is described based on all life stages from Roraima State, Northern Brazil. U. amajari sp. nov. has a forewing coloration and penis shape similar to that of the widespread species U. uruguayensis (Traver) but it differs from the latter by the shape of the penis lobe apex in the male imago and by the lines of pectinate setae on the ventral surface of tibia III, in the nymph. The descriptions of nymph and female imago of U. passorum Gama-Neto & Hamada, 2014 are also presented.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented four known deductions of the equation E = mc2, including the original, and compared the physical concepts and the mathematical tools in each case and verified that three deductions are accessible to the student of the secondary education.
Abstract: In this work, we present four known deductions of the equation E = mc2, including the original. We relate the physical concepts and the mathematical tools in each case and compare the deductions. After the analysis, we verify that three deductions are accessible to the student of the Secondary Education.

TL;DR: In this paper, the emergence of the ST309 P. aeruginosa lineage in South America/Brazil, more precisely, in the Amazon region, was reported, and global genomic analyses were performed with the Brazilian strain (PA834) and 41 complete and draft ST309 genomes publicly available, giving insights about ST309 epidemiology and its resistome and mobilome.
Abstract: Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been considered one of the major nosocomial pathogens associated with elevated morbidity and mortality worldwide. Outbreaks have been associated with few high-risk pandemic P. aeruginosa lineages, presenting a remarkable antimicrobial resistance. However, the biological features involved with the persistence and spread of such lineages among clinical settings remain to be unravel. This study reports the emergence of the ST309 P. aeruginosa lineage in South America/Brazil, more precisely, in the Amazon region. Global genomic analyses were performed with the Brazilian strain (PA834) and more 41 complete and draft ST309 genomes publicly available, giving insights about ST309 epidemiology and its resistome and mobilome. Antimicrobial susceptibility tests revealed that the Brazilian PA834 strain presented the XDR phenotype, which was mainly due to intrinsic resistance mechanisms. Genomic analyses revealed a heterogeneous distribution of acquired antimicrobial resistance genes among ST309 genomes, which included blaVIM-2, blaIMP-15 and qnrVC1, all of them associated with class 1 integrons. The mobilome mining showed the presence of Integrative and Conjugative Elements, transposons and genomic islands harbouring a huge arsenal of hevy metal resistance genes. Moreover, these elements also carried genes involved with virulence and adaptive traits. Therefore, the presence of such genes in ST309 lineage possibly accounted for the global spread and persistence of this emerging clone, and for its establishment as a pandemic lineage of clinical importance.

TL;DR: The epidemiological profile of deaths by suicide in the state of Roraima, Brazil, between 2014 and 2017 implies the need to act on the problem, which grows in proportion and gains prominence in the national indicators.
Abstract: Introduction: Suicide is one of the top three reasons of death worldwide for the 15- to 44-year age range. The Brazilian state of Roraima has shown indicators that draw attention when compared to national rates of suicide. In this sense, for the proposal of preventive measures appropriate to the state’s reality, it is important to understand the local epidemiological particularities. Objective: to identify the epidemiological profile of deaths by suicide in the state of Roraima, Brazil, between 2014 and 2017. Methods: Descriptive, population-based documentary research. The source of information was the database from the Brazilian public health system (DATASUS). The analysis included deaths by residence caused by suicide from 2014 to 2017. Cut-outs were established according to the variables incidence by municipality, marital status, age, gender, color/race, place of occurrence and method of suicide. Results: 176 deaths were reported in the state of Roraima during the period studied. The average mortality coefficient was 8,6/100.000 inhabitants. Deaths were more frequent among men (73.9%), aged 20 to 29 years (31.2%), resident in the state capital (52.8%), brown (64.2%) or indigenous (25.6%) and single (69.9%). The main suicide method was hanging, strangulation and suffocation (87.5%), with the domicile being the most usual place (72.1%). Conclusion: The results imply the need to act on the problem, which grows in proportion and gains prominence in the national indicators. Suspicion of suicidal behavior in the face of consolidated data may reduce the incidence.
