TL;DR: The results imply parasympathetic control of both female and male sexual behavior in the female rat, which implies atropine produced a severe decrement in both forms of sexual behavior.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore United Nations delegate attitudes toward the major organs of the United Nations, i.e., the Security Council, General Assembly, Economic and Social Council, Secretariat, International Court of Justice, and the General and Main Committees of the General Assembly.
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore United Nations delegate attitudes toward the major organs of the United Nations, i.e., the Security Council, General Assembly, Economic and Social Council, Secretariat, International Court of Justice, and the General and Main Committees of the General Assembly. In respect to these organs, the study probes “delegate satisfactions” concerning voting procedures, membership arrangements, and general role and past performance; “delegate perceptions” in respect to present and future importance and the probability of changes occurring in respect to membership arrangements; and “delegate desires” in respect to modifying roles and powers. The study also attempts to ascertain if delegate attitude patterns can be related to “predictors” generated from attributes of the delegates' home states. That is, is it possible to predict delegate attitudes from information about their home states? The potential importance of delegate attitudes in respect to the United Nations will be treated in detail later in the paper. Here, suffice it to say that delegates make decisions, relay information, give advice, and engage in other types of activities which allow them to help shape the institutions in which they operate. Because this is the case, it is assumed that the discovery of attitudinal patterns and the relationship of these patterns to various other indices is a potentially fruitful line of inquiry, which may facilitate an understanding of, and provide a basis for predictions about, the political processes of the United Nations.

TL;DR: Six tree squirrels were tested on a series of color discrimination problems utilizing various combinations of nine color filters ranging from 680 to 420 mu with intensity randomized to support studies using indirect methods in demonstrating that tree Squirrels possess color discrimination ability.
Abstract: Six tree squirrels were tested on a series of color discrimination problems utilizing various combinations of nine color filters ranging from 680 to 420 mu with intensity randomized. All animals reached criterion for all combinations by the 10th day of testing. These data support studies using indirect methods in demonstrating that tree squirrels possess color discrimination ability.

TL;DR: Feedback increased the proportion of correct detections as did the presence of a strong anchor and the latter condition was also associated with a reduction of false alarms.
Abstract: In an auditory signal detection study feedback and no-feedback conditions were compared and the effect of introducing anchor or reference tones during the intertrial interval was investigated. Feedback increased the proportion of correct detections as did the presence of a strong anchor. The latter condition was also associated with a reduction of false alarms.

TL;DR: In this article, a simple transformation is presented which permits the direct use of the standard Smith chart in such cases, and detailed examples of a filter and low-frequency transmission line are presented.
Abstract: The Smith chart has long been recognized as a useful classroom aid in the study of transmission lines and waveguides. It could also be used for more general n-port network calculations, except that normalizing with respect to a complex characteristic impedance can lead to left half-plane normalized impedances and, consequently, points outside the standard Smith chart even for passive terminations. A simple transformation is presented which permits the direct use of the standard Smith chart in such cases. Detailed examples of a filter and low-frequency transmission line are presented.

TL;DR: The results, in conjunction with previous experiments, show that atropine inhibits both the male and female sexual behavior of both themale and female rat.
Abstract: Soi~lairac and Soulairac (1957) showed that 10 mg. of intraperitoneal atropine sulfate inhibits male sexual behavior. Singer ( 1968) reported that the same drug and dosage inhibits both the male and female sexual behavior of female rats. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of atropine upon the female sexual behavior of male rats. Seven male rats of the Holtzman strain were castrated within three days of birth. Rats so treated will display female sexual behavior as adults when administered female hormones. Beginning at 90 days of age Ss were administered six weekly series of .Ol-mg. estradiol benzoace followed 48 hr. later by .SO mg. progesterone. Tests for the lordosis response, ~roduced by cwo vigorous males, were conducted 6 to 8 hr. after the progesterone. If Ss showed the lordosis response, they were injected intraperitoneal with either 10 mg. atropine sulfate or an equal quantity of saline. Twenty minutes later they were put back with the males and four mounts were observed. Ss were scored for the presence or absence of the lordosis response. With four mounts per session and three sessions for each chemical, each S's total score, per chemical, could range from 0 to 12. The mean number of Iordosis responses under saline was 7.9 while the mean number under the influence of atropine was 0. Ss did not appear inactive and continued to explore in a normal fashion but failed to show lordosis responses following the atropine. The results, in conjunction with previous experiments, show that atropine inhibits both the male and female sexual behavior of both the male and female rat.
