TL;DR: A fractional-life method coupled with dynamic differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) scan was employed to study the kinetics of the isothermal polymerization of the DGEBA (diglycidyl ether bisphenol A)/HHPA (hexahydrophthalic anhydride)/BDMA (benzyl dimethyl amine) resin system as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A fractional-life method coupled with dynamic differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) scan was employed to study the kinetics of the isothermal polymerization of the DGEBA (diglycidyl ether bisphenol A)/HHPA (hexahydrophthalic anhydride)/BDMA (benzyl dimethyl amine) resin system. This method avoids the problem of uncertainty in the total heat evolution in the isothermal DSC scan, The reaction orders obtained for this epoxy resin vary from 1.05 to 1.44 in the temperature range 118–135°C and are believed to be more accurate than those determined in previous studies.

TL;DR: The authors examines the dynamic stability under dual exchange rates with neutral intervention operations and shows that the relationship between the stability properties and the residents' net foreign asset position depends crucially on the impact of foreign assets on the current account and that regardless whether the domestic economy is in a net creditor of debtor position, it is not possible for the system to have an infinite number of stable paths.

TL;DR: Significantly higher juicy mouthfeel scores were obtained when the turkey roll was cooked in the convection oven at an oven temperature of 105 degrees C, the turkey was not chilled, and the slices were held hot for 60 minutes or less.
Abstract: Twenty-four frozen, raw, boneless, ready-to-cook turkey rolls were cooked in an institutional electric convection oven to an internal temperature of 77 degrees C. Six treatment combinations of three cooking temperatures (105 degrees C, 135 degrees C, and 165 degrees C) and two holding conditions (not chilled and chilled for 24 hours) were studied. Turkey rolls from each treatment combination were subjected to three hot-holding times (0, 60, and 120 minutes). Electrical energy usage was monitored during heat processing of the turkey rolls, reheating the turkey slices, and hot holding the turkey slices. Aroma, juicy mouthfeel, texture, flavor, and flavor off-notes of the cooked turkey were evaluated by seven judges using 150-mm unstructured line scales. Chew counts also were recorded. Turkey cooked at 105 degrees C took significantly more time to cook (331 vs. 227 and 203 minutes) but consumed significantly less energy (3.4 vs. 3.8 and 4.5 kWh) than turkey rolls cooked at 135 degrees C and 165 degrees C, respectively. Significantly higher juicy mouthfeel scores were obtained when the turkey roll was cooked in the convection oven at an oven temperature of 105 degrees C, the turkey was not chilled, and the slices were held hot for 60 minutes or less.

TL;DR: It is indicated that thyroidectomy reduces the spontaneous release of ratPRL by AP and secretion rate of rat PRL in the absence of ovarian steroids.
Abstract: The effects of thyroidectomy on both the secretion of rat prolactin (PRL) in vivo and the release of PRL from rat anterior pituitary glands (Aps) in vitro in the absence of ovarian steroids were studied. Rats were ovariectomized (Ovx) 42 days after thyroidectomy or sham-thyroidectomy. On day 15 following ovariectomy the rats were either decapitated for examining the in vitro release of PRL from AP or anesthetized for measuring the metabolic clearance rate (MCR) of rat PRL. After decapitation, blood samples were collected and APs were incubated with or without the extract of rat medial basal hypothalamus (rHE) at 37 degrees C for 4 h. The MCR of iodinated rat PRL was determined by a single injection method. Blood samples were collected by heart puncture at frequent intervals. Serum PRL concentrations of decapitated thyroidectomized-ovariectomized (TX-Ovx) rats were 56% lower than those found in Ovx rats. Thyroidectomy in Ovx rats resulted in a significant reduction of the spontaneous release of PRL from AP. The rHE decreased PRL levels in the medium after incubation with APs from sham Tx rats, but not those from Tx rats. MCR of PRL was reduced in Ovx rats by thyroidectomy. These results indicate that thyroidectomy reduces the spontaneous release of rat PRL by AP and secretion rate of rat PRL in the absence of ovarian steroids.

TL;DR: Histological observations suggest that the parasite-origin proteolytic enzyme(s) play a major role in the excystment of the metacercaria, and an increase in varying temperatures may be enough to trigger excyStment.
Abstract: The metacercaria of Clinostomum complanatum excysts from fish only after activation. The present study was conducted to determine whether activation was dependent on temperature, hydrogen ion concentration or on the stomach enzyme, pepsin. The data indicate that the metacercaria is very sensitive to a high temperature such as 39°C and 42°C. Warm water at 33°C and 36°C can also induce excystment of the metacercaria but not so powerful. Following the pretreatment of a low temperature, the metacercarial excystment can occur at a room temperature. Therefore, the excystment does not necessarily occur only at the temperature above 33°C but an increase in varying temperatures may be enough to trigger excystment. Histological observations suggest that the parasite-origin proteolytic enzyme(s) play a major role in the excystment.
