TL;DR: The authors find that the relationship between information sharing and PPSC performance is currently unclear, and there is inconsistency in the positioning of information sharing among constructs and variables in the IS-PPSC literature.
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of the relationship between information sharing and performance of perishable product supply chains (PPSC). Building on transaction cost economics (TCE), organisational information processing theory (OIPT), and contingency theory (CT), this study proposes a theoretical framework to guide future research into information sharing in perishable product supply chains (IS-PPSC).,Using the systematic literature review methodology, 48 peer-reviewed articles are carefully selected, mapped, and assessed. Template analysis is performed to unravel the relationship mechanisms between information sharing and PPSC performance.,The authors find that the relationship between information sharing and PPSC performance is currently unclear, and there is inconsistency in the positioning of information sharing among constructs and variables in the IS-PPSC literature. This implies a requirement to refine the relationship between information sharing and PPSC performance. The review also revealed that the role of perishable product characteristics has largely been ignored in existing research.,This study applies relevant multiple theoretical perspectives to overcome the ambiguity of the IS-PPSC literature and contributes nine propositions to guide future research. Accordingly, this study contributes to the refined roles of relationship uncertainty, environmental uncertainty, information sharing capabilities, and perishable product characteristics in shaping the relationship between information sharing and PPSC performance.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluate the impacts of Indonesia's cash transfer program (PKH) six years after the program launched, using data from about 14,000 households in 360 sub-districts across Indonesia, taking advantage of the fact that treatment and control locations remained largely intact throughout the period.
Abstract: Conditional cash transfer (CCT) programs have spread worldwide, and are designed to promote comprehensive human capital investments in children, starting from encouraging pre-natal and maternal care and early childhood health interventions and continuing through incentivizing school attendance. Yet evaluating these claims over more than a few years is hard, as most CCT experiments extend the program to the control group after a short experimental period. This paper experimentally estimates the impacts of Indonesia’s cash transfer program (PKH) six years after the program launched, using data from about 14,000 households in 360 sub-districts across Indonesia, taking advantage of the fact that treatment and control locations remained largely intact throughout the period. We find that PKH continues to have large static incentive effects on many of the targeted indicators, increasing usage of trained health professionals for childbirth dramatically and halving the share of children age 7-15 who are not enrolled in school. Wage labor for 13-15 year olds was reduced by at least one-third. We also begin to observe impacts on outcomes that may require cumulative investments: for example, six years later, we observe large reductions in stunting and some evidence of increased high school completion rates. The results suggest that CCT investments can have substantial effects on the accumulation of human capital, and that these effects can persist even when programs are operating at large-scale without researcher intervention.

TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy combined with multivariate calibrations of partial least square (PLS) and principle component regression (PCR) for analysis of virgin coconut oil (VCO) in the ternary mixture with palm oil (PO) and olive oil, and for extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) mixed with soybean oil (SO) and corn oil (CO).
Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy combined with multivariate calibrations of partial least square (PLS) and principle component regression (PCR) for analysis of virgin coconut oil (VCO) in the ternary mixture with palm oil (PO) and olive oil, and for analysis of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) mixed with soybean oil (SO) and corn oil (CO). The spectra of individual oils and their blends with certain concentrations were scanned using horizontal attenuated total reflectance accessory at mid-infrared region of 4,000–650 cm−1. The optimal frequency regions selected for calibration models were based on its ability to give the highest values of coefficient of determination (R 2) and the lowest values of root mean standard error of calibration (RMSEC). PLS was slightly better for quantitative analysis of VCO and EVOO compared with PCR. VCO in ternary mixtures is successfully determined at frequency region of 1,200–1,000 using second derivative FTIR spectra with R 2 and RMSEC values of 0.999 and 0.200, respectively. Meanwhile, EVOO is best determined at 1,200–1,000 using first derivative FTIR spectra with R 2 and RMSEC values of 0.999 and 0.975, respectively. The results showed that FTIR spectroscopy offers accurate and reliable technique for quantitative analysis of VCO and EVOO in ternary systems. In addition, the developed method can be used for the monitoring of VCO and EVOO adulteration with cheaper oils like PO in VCO as well as SO and CO in EVOO.

TL;DR: In this paper, a structural equation model was applied to investigate the relationship between motorcycle-based ride-sourcing, motorcycle taxis, and public transport in the Jakarta metropolitan area, and the results showed that the motorcycle taxi works as a complementary mode for TransJakarta bus and Jakarta commuter train, but as a competitor with the motorcycle taxis.
Abstract: In the last decade, the emergence of ride-sourcing services has transformed personal trip behavior. In the context of Indonesia, ride-sourcing services have evolved into two modes of transport: motorcycle-based and car-based. The presence of such services has strongly impacted consumers’ choices of travel mode. However, the main question is whether the ride-sourcing service is a complement or a substitute for the existing public transport and conventional taxis. Using 438 motorcycle-based, ride-sourcing consumers, we applied a structural equation model to investigate the relationships between motorcycle-based ride-sourcing, motorcycle taxis, and public transport in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area. The result shows that motorcycle-based ride-sourcing works as a complementary mode for the TransJakarta bus and Jakarta commuter train, but as a competitor with the motorcycle taxis. Contrarily, motorcycle taxis supported the existence of motorcycle-based ride-sourcing. The study also found that individuals use motorcycle taxis as feeders to transit stops. Individuals commonly use motorcycle taxis and motorcycle-based ride-sourcing for short travel distances. The demographic features and technology use experience also drive individuals’ choice of the three transportation modes. Integrating public transport with motorcycle-based ride-source services, and legalizing motorcycle taxis and motorcycle-based ride sourcing as forms of public transport are two main proposed policies that seek to increase public transport demand, ensure service quality, safety, and fares, and reduce the potential conflict between all three.
