TL;DR: In this article, a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on a satellite platform undergoing a nutating relative motion from geosynchronous altitude was used to image the contiguous United States in about 3 h of segmented operation at 100m resolution with 4-azimuth look averaging.
Abstract: Images of Earth can be produced with an assumed synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on a satellite platform undergoing a nutating relative motion from geosynchronous altitude. From a 50° inclined circular orbit, the contiguous United States can be imaged in about 3 h of segmented operation at 100-m resolution with 4-azimuth-look averaging. The 2450-MHz transmitter radiates 1312 W of average power from a steerable 15-m-diam antenna. The SAR can image daily an area bounded longitudinally and latitudinally.

TL;DR: One or more techniques are provided for adapting a reconstruction process to account for the motion of an imaged object or organ, such as the heart as discussed by the authors, which is acquired using a slowly rotating CT gantry.
Abstract: One or more techniques are provided for adapting a reconstruction process to account for the motion of an imaged object or organ, such as the heart. In particular, projection data of the moving object or organ is acquired using a slowly rotating CT gantry. Motion data may be determined from the projection data or from images reconstructed from the projection data. The motion data may be used to reconstruct motion-corrected images from the projection data. The motion-corrected images may be associated to form motion-corrected volume renderings.

TL;DR: In this article, the high pressure/high temperature (HP/HT) process for making diamond or CBN compacts has been modified by placing partitions within the crystal mass before HP/HT processing.
Abstract: The high pressure/high temperature (HP/HT) process for making diamond or CBN compacts has been modified by placing partitions within the crystal mass before HP/HT processing. With reference to FIG. 3, within the shield metal sleeve 11 and shield metal cup 14 are placed pliable metal shapes 20 in a honeycomb pattern. The abrasive crystals within the tubes 18 and outside the tubes 26 is sintered, and a compact containing the tubes embedded therein results. This compact can be acid leached to give a plurality of small compacts which need little if any additional shaping. The partitions can also be left intact as chip arresters.

TL;DR: In this article, a white light illumination system is described, which includes a radiation source which emits either ultra-violet (UV) or x-ray radiation, and a luminescent material has composition A2−2xNa1+xExD2V3O12.
Abstract: There is provided a white light illumination system. The illumination system includes a radiation source which emits either ultra-violet (UV) or x-ray radiation. The illumination system also includes a luminescent material which absorbs the UV or x-ray radiation and emits the white light. The luminescent material has composition A2−2xNa1+xExD2V3O12. A may be calcium, barium, strontium, or combinations of these three elements. E may be europium, dysprosium, samarium, thulium, or erbium, or combinations thereof. D may be magnesium or zinc, or combinations thereof. The value of x ranges from 0.01 to 0.3, inclusive.
