Abstract: Shuping landslide, belonging to Zigui county, Hubei province, is located on a north-inclined slope at the south bank of Yangtze River and about 50 km away from the Three Gorges Dam. The landslide occupies less than 1 km2 and is covered by densely vegetations. Since the first impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir ended on June 15, 2003, the landslide has suffered obvious deformation. The maximum value of Shuping landslide in special month is up to several decimetres.

Abstract: In recent years, multi-spectral data have been widely used to prospect the source rock or source region of porphyry copper deposits. In this paper, we present a system to extract the information of alteration mineral from multi-spectral data. The system is developed with the Visual C# 2010 and IDL8.0 platform, and is able to process the ASTER multi-spectral data which is a new multiband file after layer stacking. Based on the principal component analysis, the ASTER data is processed automatically in this system. The result shows two components, the classified information of argillic- and phyllic-altered mineral assemblage and propylitization mineral assemblage. Compared with the traditional processes, the system not only lowers the threshold of the application of remote sensing technology, but also improves the work efficiency significantly.

Abstract: The study of the current chemical composition of natural waters in the eastern and western parts of the Imandra Lake catchment was performed using ion chromatography, potentiometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. It was found that the content of trace elements in the surface water is considerably higher than that in the groundwater. The nickel and copper concentrations exceed the background levels over 19 and 2 times respectively in groundwater, and 175 and 61 times in the surface waters. These data show that the Severonikel influences negatively air and surface water.

Abstract: Field test sites play important roles in hyperspectral remote sensing applications. In this paper, Comprehensive Hyperspectral Experimental Site for Resources Exploration (CHESRE), a remote sensing test site built by China Geological Survey, is introduced and the corresponding hyperspectral data set is investigated. Especially, this test site focuses on the collections and applications of ground, aerial and satellite hyperspectral data, which are described in detail. A sub data set will be freely open to the public in the near future, aiming to promote the scientific research on hyperspectral data for resources exploration.
