TL;DR: In this paper, the authors have shown that water is saturated with oxides and hydroxides of aluminium and iron in the Imandra Lake catchment area of the Kola Peninsula.
Abstract: The ultrafresh groundwater (with TDS values less than 200 mg/L) of the Imandra Lake catchment, Kola Peninsula, is from an intensive water exchange zone, where the water has a short period of contact with the rock. Therefore, the considered water is at the initial stages of the water–rock interaction. The water is saturated with respect to oxides and hydroxides of aluminium and iron. In the groundwater of the Imandra Lake catchment area, the silicon concentrations significantly exceed the concentrations of magnesium and especially potassium. Nevertheless, water is undersaturated with respect to with respect to silicon oxides. The shown enrichment of water with cations is explained by time of water-rock interaction.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors extracted lithology, tectonics and mineralization information in Tasala area using Radarsat-2imagery using H-A-Alpha decomposition.
Abstract: Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar(PolSAR)can measure the magnitude and relative phase of targets' backscattering signals in imaging scene in different combination of transmit and receive antennas.Polarization synthesis technique has greatly increased the acquired polarization information. Therefore, this technique and its application have been attracted many attentions in microwave remote sensing domain. In this paper,we extracted lithology, tectonics and mineralization information in Tasala area using Radarsat-2imagery.H-A-Alpha decomposition was used to obtain the polarization information of targets as much as possible. We also used the unsupervised H-A-Alpha-Wishart classification to study stratigraphic distribution characteristics, regional tectonic framework and detected lots of abnormal information.Compared with traditional single polarization method, the PolSAR method can increase the amount of target information and decrease interpretation difficulty. Thus it can be used as an effective supplement to the routine interpretation method.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed main land slidecausing factors and evaluated stability of landslide by use of Rosenbluth method, the result indicated that the landslide was in extremely unstable stage.
Abstract: This paper studies the environmental geological problems of Dashikou landslide. The author analyzed main land slidecausing factors and evaluated stability of landslide by use of Rosenbluth method. The assessment result is 0.98. The result indicated that the landslide was in extremely unstable stage. The author predicted hazardcausing economic losses and casualties to human beings. Finally some methods and suggestions in risk management were advanced in this paper. Keywords: landslide; hazard; risk; management; assessment

TL;DR: This paper attempts a solution to the problem of retrieval of surface reflectance by exploiting the synergy of TERRA and AQUA MODIS data and showed promising potential to address surface reflectances retrieval for land even for higher reflective surface.
Abstract: The surface reflectance is of important geophysical parameter for many quantitative remote sensing applications. The inference of earth surface spectral reflectance using visible observations is complicated mainly because of scattering and absorption effects due to gases and aerosols. Surface reflectance product from MODIS data has been operationally offered, however, aerosol effect removal is based DDV algorithm which is restrictedly used for lower reflectance ground surface such as dense vegetation. In this paper we attempt a solution to the problem of retrieval of surface reflectance by exploiting the synergy of TERRA and AQUA MODIS data. Preliminary results of retrieval experiments and validation is encouraging and showed promising potential to address surface reflectance retrieval for land even for higher reflective surface.
