TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of asymmetric carrier distribution in the active region of green light-emitting diodes has been studied theoretically, and the authors minimized the problem by sandwiched InGaN-based green light emitting Diodes (LEDs).
Abstract: In this work, InGaN-based green light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are studied theoretically. We have minimized the problem of asymmetrical carrier distribution in the active region. We have sandwiched t...

TL;DR: Experimental results reveal that the accuracy of face recognition can be increased by combining RGB and depth images and applying pre-processing on depth maps which mitigate the effects of covariates such as holes and noise in the depth maps.
Abstract: Researchers have tried to improve the accuracy of face recognition by combining 2D and 3D images to overcome the problems of illumination, pose variation and occlusion. Although combining 2D with 3D have shown better results when compared with 2D images only, however applicability of these methods is inadequate in practical implementations due to high cost of 3D sensors, therefore we are using the low cost sensor Kinect acquired images. We do face recognition from RGB images, depth images and then we combine both RGB and depth maps i.e. concatenate different Modalities to improve the accuracy of recognition. Depth maps have holes and noise induced from camera sensors, therefore we process them to remove these distortions and then we apply the face recognition algorithm. Experimental results reveal that the accuracy of face recognition can be increased by combining RGB and depth images and applying pre-processing on depth maps which mitigate the effects of covariates such as holes and noise in the depth maps.

TL;DR: In this article, the results of modeling of the processes of phases transformations occurring in cathode of plasmatron with zirconium insertion were presented, and the comparison between one-dimensional mathematical models was exploited for estimation of the kinetics coefficient.
Abstract: The paper presents the results of modeling of the processes of phases transformations occurring in cathode of plasmatron with zirconium insertion. Model describes temperature and liquid-solid phase transformation in cathode considering kinetics of transformation in accordance with a state diagram. The comparison between one-dimensional mathematical models was exploited for estimation of the kinetics coefficient. First model is based on well-known heat equation with Stefans condition on the free boundary between liquid and solid phases [. The standard analytical self-similar solution for two-phase case is applied. In the second model, for heat equation instead of Stefans conditions, differential equations of kinetics are used.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effects of reducing pristine graphene oxide (GO) by hydrazine monohydrate and the degree of reduction was carefully controlled by reduction time, and they found that the reduction time can increase the Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity of RGO.

TL;DR: In this paper, commercial zirconia was milled and sedimented to separate finer and coarser particles, and additives such as CaO and Y2O3 were added in proportions of 7 and 13 mol.% each.
Abstract: Commercial zirconia was milled and sedimented to separate finer and coarser particles. Then additives such as CaO and Y2O3 were added in proportions of 7 and 13 mol.% each. Wet mixing of these powders was done in the ball mill. These mixtures were then compacted through uniaxial compaction using 150 MPa of pressure to make pellets of 8 mm diameter and 3 mm height approximately. The compacts were sintered at 1700 °C under argon atmosphere during 1 h. Densification calculations revealed densities of more than 80% in all samples. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that closed porosity was present. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results confirmed the presence of cubic phase with quantities higher in samples of finer powder and 13 mol.% additive.
