TL;DR: Results shows that there will be an overall improvement of 30% in capacity of a communication network in using flex-grid plan over the fix- grid plan.
Abstract: This research paper is aim to analyze the difference between fix and flex grid plans for 5G multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) transmission system. Analysis will be made for different bandwidths i.e., 500GHz, 400GHz, and 350GHz for 20km transmission distance of Multi-mode Fiber (MMF). Both fix and flex-grid plans are studied under the fixed transmission rate (100G) and for different data rates (20G/40G/100G). Purpose of changing the grid plan is to save the bandwidth of an optical communication system that is useless because of guard bands. We have evaluated the spectrum utilization gains using OFDM based transmitters and receivers in MIMO optical networks with flexible grid, and then compared to a conventional grid MIMO transmission optical networks. Results shows that there will be an overall improvement of 30% in capacity of a communication network in using flex-grid plan over the fix-grid plan.

TL;DR: In this paper, a study of proper Weyl projective curvature collineations in FRW k = 0 space-time is given using the rank of Weyl curvature matrix and direct integration techniques.
Abstract: A study of proper Weyl projective curvature collineations in FRW k=0 space-time is given using the rank of Weyl projective curvature matrix and direct integration techniques. It is shown that a very special class of the above space-time admits proper Weyl projective curvature collineation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of titanium alloy and commercially pure titanium (cpTi) as fillers on dissimilar pulsed tungsten inert gas weldments of Ti-5Al-2.5Sn/cpTi was investigated in terms of microstructure, mechanical/nano-mechanical properties, and residual stresses.
Abstract: The influence of titanium alloy (Ti–5Al–2.5Sn) and commercially pure titanium (cpTi) as fillers on dissimilar pulsed tungsten inert gas weldments of Ti–5Al–2.5Sn/cpTi was investigated in terms of microstructure, mechanical/nano-mechanical properties, and residual stresses. A partial martensitic transformation was observed in the weldments for all the welding conditions due to high heat input. The microstructure evolved in the FZ/cpTi interfacial region was observed to be the most sensitive to the proportion of α stabilizer in the filler alloy. Furthermore, the addition of filler alloy improved the tensile properties and nano-mechanical response of the weld joint owing to the increased volume of metal in the weld joint. As compared to the Ti–5Al–2.5Sn wire, the use of cpTi filler wire proved to be better in terms of energy absorbed during tensile and impact tests, tensile strength and ductility of the dissimilar welds. An asymmetrical residual stresses profile was observed close to the weld centerline, with high compressive stresses on the Ti–5Al–2.5Sn side for both the weldments obtained with and without filler wires. This was attributed to mainly the low thermal conductivity of Ti–5Al–2.5Sn. The presence of residual stresses also influenced the nano-hardness profile across the weldments.

TL;DR: In this article, an intelligent contract for the power transaction is analyzed based on the concepts of the blockchain, and the roles of the micro-grid and related intelligent contract technologies in the power market are also investigated in the electricity reform.
Abstract: The power market is changing with the development of distributed energy. The development of the micro-grid introduces a small power generation system for distributed energy. It has become a trend for the micro-grid to participate in the power market. Blockchain is a database technology with transparent distribution through a decentralization mechanism. In the blockchain, the transaction data are maintained by entire nodes in the power market. It solves the trust problem between the transaction agents. Intelligent contract technology can make transaction contracts computerized and executed automatically, which has dramatically improved transaction efficiency. In this paper, an intelligent contract for the power transaction is analyzed based on the concepts of the blockchain. The roles of the micro-grid and the related intelligent contract technologies in the power market are also investigated in the electricity reform. Finally, a blockchain scheme for point-to-point trading is designed for future purposes.

TL;DR: In this article, a face-to-face magnetically coupled thruster was developed to transfer torque between driver (motor) and driven (propeller) shafts.
Abstract: A permanent magnetic coupling is investigated for unmanned underwater application. In this paper, face to face magnetically coupled thruster is developed to transfer torque between driver (motor) and driven (propeller) shaft. Permanent cylindrical magnets are mounted on the faces of couplings for power transmission. Comparison of torque transmitted at different air gaps with equal numbers of magnets is presented. The number of magnets is same but center to center distance between magnets and coupling is different in all the designs. The working prototype successfully demonstrates non-contact power transmission from the driven to the drive shaft without compromising on the desired thrust rating.
