TL;DR: An organic semiconductor Cu(II) 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4′-isopropylphenyl) porphyrin (CuTIPP) was synthesized and investigated as an active material in resistive-capacitive multifunctional sensor as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: An organic semiconductor Cu(II) 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4′-isopropylphenyl) porphyrin (CuTIPP) was synthesized and investigated as an active material in resistive–capacitive multifunctional sensor. A thin film of the CuTIPP was deposited by thermal evaporator on a glass substrate with preliminary deposited silver electrodes and Ag/CuTIPP/Ag surface-type multifunctional sensor was fabricated. Thickness of the CuTIPP film was 100 nm. Area of the semiconducting channel between metallic electrodes was 40 μm × 21 mm. A change in electrical resistance and capacitance was observed with the increase of temperature, relative humidity and illumination. An equivalent circuit of the Ag/CuTIPP/Ag capacitive–resistive humidity, temperature and illumination sensor was developed. Humidity, temperature and illumination dependent capacitance–resistance properties of this sensor make it beneficial for use in humidity, temperature and lux multimeters.

TL;DR: In this article, a specially designed fractal metasurface-based structure was investigated as a dual-polarization converter operating in the terahertz (THz) band.
Abstract: A specially designed fractal metasurface-based structure was investigated as a dual-polarization converter operating in the terahertz (THz) band. The proposed converter has the ability to perform both the linear-to-cross (LX) and linear-to-circular (LC) polarization conversions. In the former kind of operation, it exhibits three unity polarization conversion ratio (PCR) peaks at 1.10 THz, 2.13 THz and 3.46 THz frequencies, whereas in the latter situation, the conversion was achieved over three operating bands, namely 1.2–1.83 THz, 2.52–3.10 THz and 3.78–3.90 THz. The effect of oblique incidence on the performance of metasurface (used in designing the converter) was also studied, and fairly stable operation could be determined. The obtained results indicate the proposed converter to have possible potentials in imaging, antenna engineering and certain other photonic devices used in the fields of medical diagnostics, sensing, and other related measurements.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss three important multiple criteria decision-making techniques, i.e., Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), and the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method in selection of the best renewable energy source that Pakistan should invest into.
Abstract: Power demands across the globe have been on rise for quite a time, and they will continue so in the years ahead. Most of the present day, energy requirements are met by non-renewable energy sources, i.e., burning fossil fuels which are not only expensive and polluting our environment but also depleting quite rapidly. A considerable portion of Pakistan import bills consists of petroleum products according to Pakistan Economic Survey 2015–2016. Renewable energy alternatives, i.e., wind, hydel, solar, and biomass, can be considered cheap, reliable, safe, and supply sustainable energy for the ever-increasing population. Renewable energy is getting more and more attention not only abroad but also in Pakistan as well. In order to decide the best renewable energy alternative for investment to meet rising energy demands of Pakistan, several factors such as economic, technological, and environmental have to be taken in consideration by the decision makers. Therefore, the paper discusses three important multiple criteria decision-making techniques, i.e., Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), and the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method in selection of the best renewable energy source that Pakistan should invest into. The results indicate that hydel power generation is the optimum source for meeting energy requirements followed by wind, biomass, and solar power-generating plants.
