TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal degradation of polyacrylonitrile and copolymers with each of vinylacetate (VAC), methallyl sulfonate sodium salt (MASS), and 2-acrylamido 2-methyl propane sulfonates sodium salt was investigated using the technique of thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
Abstract: The thermal degradation of polyacrylonitrile and copolymers of acrylonitrile (AN) with each of vinylacetate (VAC), methallyl sulfonate sodium salt (MASS), and 2-acrylamido 2-methyl propane sulfonate sodium salt (2-AMPSS) i.e., P(AN–VAC), P(AN–MASS), P(AN–AMPSS), and P(AN–VAC–MASS), has been investigated using the technique of thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The initial decomposition temperature (IDT) and integral procedural decomposition temperature (IPDT) for all the copolymers are less than that for polyacrylonitrile irrespective of the nature of the vinyl comonomers. TGA thermograms indicate faster rate of degradation in copolymers compared to polyacrylonitrile. Variation in the glass transition temperature is correlated to the polarity of the functional groups in the polyacrylonitrile copolymers.

TL;DR: In this paper, the mean field approximation of itinerant ferromagnetic superconductors is applied to the system Y9Co7 and satisfactory agreement between theory and experimental results is found.
Abstract: Density of states and specific heat of itinerant ferromagnetic superconductors are studied by using the mean field approximation. The results are applied to the system Y9Co7. There is satisfactory agreement between theory and experimental results.

TL;DR: In a number of ionic crystals an absorption peak or peaks just beyond the sharp absorption edge and due to excitons is frequently observed as discussed by the authors, and it was suggested that exciton states should exist but that their lifetime would be so short that it would be virtually impossible to detect them.
Abstract: In a number of ionic crystals an absorption peak or peaks just beyond the sharp absorption edge and due to excitons is frequently observed. The shape of the curve of exciton absorption has been well accounted for by Toyozawa [1]. Mort and Davis [2] have discussed the possibility of the existence of excitons in glassy materials. Originally it was suggested that exciton states should exist but that their lifetime would be so short that it would be virtually impossible to detect them. More recently it seems that glassy SiO2 is rather different in its electronic structure from other oxide glasses whose optical properties have been studied. The electron drift mobility is much higher than the normal values characteristic of a hopping process and suggests that the mobility edge in SiO2 is very near the band edge, so that the behaviour of electrons is more nearly similar to that in a crystalline semiconductor. There is evidence of exciton absorption in SiO2 and this has been discussed in detail by Mott [3]. This process is substantially modified by the incorporation of sodium monoxide in the silica as

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that E and F are R-orbit equivalent in a strict sense, assuming that they are invariant sets for the odometer transformation R and that F and E are of measure zero with respect to the unique finite R-invariant measure on Z.
Abstract: LetE andF be two Borel sets of the countable productZ of the two point space {0,1}. Assume thatE andF are invariant sets for the odometer transformationR and thatE andF are of measure zero with respect to the unique finiteR-invariant measure onZ. We show thatE andF areR-orbit equivalent in a strict sense.

TL;DR: In this article, soda glass detectors were exposed vertically to a 50 22 Ti ion beam, of energy 4.9 MeV n -1, at the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna, U.S.R. These exposed samples were annealed at different temperatures for various intervals of time.
