TL;DR: In this paper, a deterministic model for a population subject to a strong Allee effect and undertake a model based study on commercially valuable herring fish population is proposed, which can have a huge impact on understanding extinction patterns and enable us to identify demographic threats and guide decision making in conservation management.

TL;DR: In this article, the performance enhancement of electrochemical machining (ECM) process by oxygenated aqueous sodium chloride (NaCl) electrolyte was investigated, and it was experimentally found that the performance parameters such as material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (R a) are greatly improved with this new mix of electrolyte.
Abstract: This paper investigates the performance enhancement of electrochemical machining (ECM) process by oxygenated aqueous sodium chloride (NaCl) electrolyte. It is experimentally found that the performance parameters such as material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (R a) are greatly improved with this new mix of electrolyte. The oxygen gas is suitable to electrochemically react with aqueous NaCl solution to enhance the oxidation of metal oxides on the machined surface to increase the MRR. In this work, experimental investigations are conducted with both aqueous NaCl electrolyte and oxygenated aqueous NaCl electrolyte on the alloy steel specimen (20MnCr5). Largest MRR of 7.33 g/min with R a of 1.90 μm is obtained in oxygenated NaCl environment compared to MRR of 1.98 g/min and R a of 3.13 μm in aqueous NaCl environment with machining conditions of voltage (V) of 17 V, tool feed rate (F) of 0.5 mm/min, and electrolyte concentration (EC) of 142.5 g/l of water. Microstructure of surface of the specimen machined with oxygenated aqueous NaCl electrolyte is more homogeneous and promises a good surface quality.

TL;DR: The present review covers the influence of cold plasma technology on reducing microbial risks and enhancing the quality attributes in fruits.
Abstract: Consumers' demand is increasing for safe foods without impairing the phytochemical and sensory quality. In turn, it has increased research interest in the exploration of innovative food processing technologies. Cold plasma technology is getting popularity now days owing to its high efficacy in decontamination of microbes in fruit and fruit-based products. As a on-thermal approach, plasma processing maintains the quality of fruits and minimizes the thermal effects on nutritional properties. Cold plasma is also exploited for inactivating enzymes and degrading pesticides as both are directly related with quality loss and presently are most important concerns in fresh produce industry. The present review covers the influence of cold plasma technology on reducing microbial risks and enhancing the quality attributes in fruits.

TL;DR: In this paper, the Coriolis effect with forced convective heat transfer on steady ferrohydrodynamic flow past a rotating porous disk in the presence of viscous dissipation has been investigated.
Abstract: The Coriolis effect with forced convective heat transfer on steady ferrohydrodynamic flow past a rotating porous disk in the presence of viscous dissipation has been investigated. The basic idea of the Neuringer-Rosensweig model has been used for the equation of motion of the nanofluid flow. With help of suitable transformations, the governing non-linear system of coupled partial differential equations is simplified into the dimensionless system of ordinary differential equations. Further, the dimensionless system of equations is solved numerically by the MATLAB routine bvp4c solver package. The findings for the motivating parameters of physical interest are expressed by the table and discussed with graphs. The outcomes show that heat transfer rate and thermal boundary layer thickness increase due to the higher value of the dissipation parameter.
