TL;DR: The roots of Chlorophytum borivilianum contain three important fatty acids, common sterol stigmasterol and one furostanol saponins, which are characterized and elucidated with chemical and spectroscopic techniques.
Abstract: Background: The present communication deals with the identification and characterization of bioactive principles from the roots of Chlorophytum borivilianum. Method: Methanolic extract and its fractions were used to isolate different phytoconstituents. The structures of isolated compounds were characterized and elucidated with chemical and spectroscopic techniques such as Infra Red, Nuclear Mass Resonace and Mass spectroscopy experiments. Fatty acids were characterized by GC-MS analysis. Result: Three Fatty acids were isolated and confirmed. One sterol stigmasterol was isolated. One new saponin named as Chlorophytoside-I (3b, 5a, 22R, 25R)-26-(β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-22-hydroxy-furostan-12-one-3 yl O-β-D-galactopyranosyl (1-4) glucopyranoside was isolated. Conclusion: The roots of Chlorophytum borivilianum contain three important fatty acids, common sterol stigmasterol and one furostanol saponins.

06 Apr 2016TL;DR: The qualitative approach of this project is to develop a system which minimizes the working cost and also reduces the time for digging operation and seed sowing operation by utilizing solar energy to run the agribot.
Abstract: The Discovery of Agriculture is the first big step towards civilized life, advancement of agricultural tools is the basic trend of agricultural improvement. Now the qualitative approach of this project is to develop a system which minimizes the working cost and also reduces the time for digging operation and seed sowing operation by utilizing solar energy to run the agribot. In this machine, solar panel is used to capture solar energy and then it is converted into electrical energy which is used to charge battery, which then gives the necessary power to a shunt wound DC motor. Ultrasonic Sensor and Digital Compass Sensor are used with the help of Wi-Fi interface operated on Android Application to manoeuvre robot in the field. This brings down labour dependency. Seed sowing and digging robot will move on various ground contours and performs digging, sowing the seed and covers the ground by closing it. The paper spells out the complete installation of the agribot including hardware and software facet.

TL;DR: No relation was found between microbial growth inhibition and phenolic content of algae and the inhibitory activities of acetone extracts of distal and proximal parts of Chaetomorpha antennina of summer.
Abstract: Acetone and ethanol extracts of five marine algae namely Caulerpa taxifolia, Chaetomorpha antennina, Cladophora fascicularis, Ulva lactuca and Gracilaria corticata collected from two locations in three seasons were tested for the growth inhibition of five bacteria and three fungi. Caulerpa taxifolia, Chaetomorpha antennina and Gracilaria corticata exhibited considerable inhibition against bacterium Bacillus subtilis and yeast Candida albicans. Distal parts of algae of summer season showed good inhibitory activity. None of the algal extracts inhibited bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa, fungi Aspergillus flavus and Fusarium oxysporum. A significant difference (p<0.01, ANOVA) in antibacterial activity of the extracts of Chaetomorpha antennina was found in different seasons. Significant difference (p<0.001, ANOVA) was also found in the inhibitory activities of acetone extracts of distal and proximal parts of Chaetomorpha antennina of summer. No relation was found between microbial growth inhibition and phenolic content of algae.

TL;DR: In this article, the phase velocities and inverse quality factors of these plane waves depend on frequency, porosity, relaxation times, and other material parameters, and are computed for a certain range of porosity by a using Fortran program of Ferrari's method.
Abstract: The linear governing equations of generalized porothermoelasticity are solved for a two-dimensional solution, which results in one shear wave and four kinds of coupled longitudinal waves. The phase velocities and inverse quality factors of these plane waves depend on frequency, porosity, relaxation times, and other material parameters. The phase velocities and inverse quality factors of these plane waves are computed for a certain range of porosity by a using Fortran program of Ferrari’s method. The numerical results are compared with earlier established results in the absence of thermal parameters.
