TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method for both qualitative and quantitative evaluation of semi-submersible floating offshore wind turbine failure characteristics, indicating that most of the failures are caused by several basic factors.

TL;DR: Both in vitro and in vivo experiments show that the as-obtained UPI can ablate cancer cells effectively with 808-nm irradiation, revealing their great potential as a NIR-mediated dual-modal therapeutic platform.
Abstract: Integrated theranostic nanosystems that combine therapeutic methods with suitable medical imaging modality are highly needed in the improvement of cancer theranostic approaches. Herein, polydopamine (PDA)-shelled NaYF4:Yb,Er@NaYF4:Yb nanoparticles (UCNPs) capable of loading indocyanine green (ICG) molecules via electrostatic adsorption, hydrophobic interaction and π–π stacking were successfully designed and synthesized (UCNPs@PDA-ICG, denoted as UPI) for upconversion imaging and combined photothermal/photodynamic therapy (PTT/PDT) with enhanced antitumor efficacy. We have found that ICG in this novel anticancer nanoplatform can be triggered impressively by 808-nm irradiation to produce both a photothermal effect and cytotoxic reactive oxygen species (ROS), thus achieving a good PTT/PDT synergistic effect. Notably, compared with free ICG molecules, UPI nanocomposites show much higher photostability and thermal stability. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments show that the as-obtained UPI can ablate cancer cells effectively with 808-nm irradiation, revealing their great potential as a NIR-mediated dual-modal therapeutic platform. Meanwhile, the core of UCNPs can be used for UCL imaging. All these results demonstrate great potentiality of UPI as a novel type of theranostic agent for the treatment of tumors.

TL;DR: A novel organic-inorganic hybrid adsorbent is synthesized through in-situ growing MOF particles on electrospun polyacrylonitrile fibers (PAN) followed by modifing with amidoxime groups to form amidoximed PAN/Zif-67 (AOPAN/ZIF) hybrid fibers, which exhibit high adsorption amount and may promote the development of U(VI) recovery under nuclear wastewater and seawater.

TL;DR: The results imply that not only hollow nanostructures, but also a novel type of nanostructure can be fabricated by the present method for nanodevices.
Abstract: The paper describes for the first time the successful synthesis of Fe2O3/TiO2 tube-like nanostructures, in which TiO2 shell is of quasi-single crystalline characteristic and its thickness can be controlled through adjusting the added amount of aqueous Ti(SO4)2 solution. The characterization of samples obtained at different stages using transmission electron microscope indicates that the outer TiO2 shell is changed gradually from amorphous and polycrystalline phase into quasi-single crystal under thermal actions through the Ostwald ripening process, accompanying the corrosion of the central parts of Fe2O3 nanorods, and the formation of small particles separating each other, leading to the special core/shell nanorods. Furthermore, Fe2O3/TiO2 tube-like nanostructures can be transformed into Fe2TiO5 nanostructures after they are thermally treated at higher temperatures. Those nanostructures exhibit enhanced ethanol sensing properties with respect to the monocomponent. Our results imply that not only hollow na...
