TL;DR: This paper presents a method for collaborative groups formation, based on learners' previous assessment, that utilizes task analysis to model the knowledge fields and calculates a simple similarity metric among students that finally leads to a group formation scheme.
Abstract: Collaborative learning is one of the most promising applications of information technology into distance learning. Probably, the most important parameter of collaboration is the proper formation of groups of learners. This paper presents a method for collaborative groups formation, based on learners' previous assessment. It utilizes task analysis to model the knowledge fields and calculates a simple similarity metric among students that finally leads to a group formation scheme.

TL;DR: A model for substituting fighting units and stationary renewal processes of Combat’s losses are outlined and asymptotic properties for the counting function of losses are presented.
Abstract: This paper investigates the set of intermediate times between successive Combat’s losses. After giving basic definitions and properties on the expected number of losses in a closed time interval, we present renewal theorems, as well as a description of exact and asymptotic probability distributions for the main time moments of losses. Further, we outline a model for substituting fighting units and we study stationary renewal processes of Combat’s losses. The paper concludes with asymptotic properties for the counting function of losses.
