TL;DR: Instrumental is the use of improved, low logistical footprint, detection platforms, used mainly on serology and DNA analysis so as to scan the expanded scope of human, animal, and plant pathogens, which have long started transitioning among hosts.
Abstract: The actual unavailability of cutting-edge antibiotics and healthcare in general for large parts of an ever more susceptible global population combines with the fast emergence of new and/or evolving pathogens to challenge the viability of the concept of healthcare, especially in environments of inadequate or failing infrastructures. The dissemination of pathogens within or on their hosts changes the geoepidemiology and presents new diagnostic challenges, aggravated by biosecurity concerns about spontaneous or bioengineered threats, which might escalate to Global Catastrophic BioRisks. A possible solution might be shifting priorities, such as considering healthcare as a state objective, along with biosecurity, instead of a procurable commercial amenity. Instrumental is the use of improved, low logistical footprint, detection platforms, used mainly on serology and DNA analysis so as to scan the expanded scope of human, animal, and plant pathogens, which have long started transitioning among hosts. Innovative combinations of novel and existing antimicrobial approaches might provide sustainable and applicable interventional solutions, more effective than current ones.

TL;DR: The negative association of opportunistic propensity with self-efficacy and positive emotions is shown and implications for experimental research on economic opportunism andpositive emotions are discussed.
Abstract: The goal was to investigate the association of economic opportunism with self-efficacy, optimism, and positive emotion. It was hypothesized that economic opportunists should experience lower self-efficacy, less positive thinking, and less optimism. Study 1 (N = 206) showed that economic opportunism was negatively correlated with self-efficacy, optimism, and positive affect, and positively correlated with negative affect. Study 2 (N = 128) indicated that individuals reporting higher self-efficacy were less likely to defect on their counterparts in a game situation. These findings show the negative association of opportunistic propensity with self-efficacy and positive emotions. Implications for experimental research on economic opportunism and positive emotions are discussed.

TL;DR: The set of intermediate times between successive cyber-attacks is investigated and basic definitions and properties on the expected number of cyber- attacks in a closed time interval and renewal theorems are given, as well as a description of exact and asymptotic probability distributions for the main occurrence moments.
Abstract: After studying the stochastic process of cyber-attacks against a cyber system, we investigate the set of intermediate times between successive cyber-attacks. Then, we give basic definitions and properties on the expected number of cyber-attacks in a closed time interval and present renewal theorems, as well as a description of exact and asymptotic probability distributions for the main occurrence moments of cyber-attacks. Further, we outline stationary renewal processes of cyber-attacks. The paper concludes with asymptotic properties for the counting function of cyber-attacks.

TL;DR: In this article, a cylindrical geometry, a low-pressure magnetized argon plasma is lit, using the rf upper hybrid resonance, and a radial dc electric field is formed, a perpendicular drift velocity is obtained on the charged particles and a collisional instability is raised.
Abstract: Abstract In a cylindrical geometry, a low-pressure magnetized argon plasma is lit, using the rf upper hybrid resonance. As a radial dc electric field is formed, a perpendicular drift velocity is obtained on the charged particles and a collisional instability is raised. The description, study and identification of that wave were given in the last published work from NCSR ‘Demokritos’, both experimentally and theoretically. Since then, the research has been continued and significant results have been obtained concerning the fields of plasma parameters, wave further understanding, growth research and boundaries' strong influence. The aim of the present paper is to inform that the rising instability has many of the characteristics of drift instabilities that are caused by the density gradient, as well as the ability of it's frequency to overcome the ion gyro-frequency. In addition, it gives an answer to the well-known problem of the need to consider a small component of the wave vector in the parallel direction, in order the wave to rise through the electron-neutral collisions' proceedings; a strong influence of cavity length on wave amplitude has been observed and measured.

TL;DR: The results of the study showed high validity and reliability for both tests with the exception in PAT for adult group, which could be valuable tools to assess the accuracy of ball passing technique and the space detection skill in players of different ages.
Abstract: The present study examined the validity and reliability of two new soccer tests: the Passing Accuracy Test (PAT), which assesses ball passing accuracy in combination with visual stimulus recognitio...
