TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the effect of rotation-induced Sagnac frequency shift on the transmission rate and group delay of a spinning micro-resonator, leading to a Fano-like spectrum of transparency.
Abstract: We study optomechanically induced transparency in a spinning microresonator. We find that in the presence of rotation-induced Sagnac frequency shift, both the transmission rate and the group delay of the signal are strongly affected, leading to a Fano-like spectrum of transparency. In particular, tuning the rotary speed leads to the emergence of nonreciprocal optical sidebands. This indicates a promising new way to control hybrid light–sound devices with spinning resonators.

TL;DR: In this article, Nanosized silver (Ag) and polydopamine (PDA) composite was prepared via one-step polymerization of dopamine, using Ag+ ion as an oxidant.
Abstract: Nanosized silver (Ag) and polydopamine (PDA) composite was prepared via one-step polymerization of dopamine, using Ag+ ion as an oxidant. The oxidization of dopamine and the reduction of Ag+ ion occurred simultaneously in one-step, which resulted in a well-defined core–shell structure of PDA coating around the Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs). Its morphology, structure, and composition were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray power diffraction (XRD), UV-vis, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, cyclic voltammograms (CVs) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), respectively. The composite showed good performance toward the photo-catalytic degradation of neutral red under UV irradiation. The possible mechanism regarding the plasmon-induced photocatalysis was discussed in some detail, where the main active species of O2˙− on the surface of the AgNPs were involved in this photoreaction system. The PDA shells greatly improve the photocatalysis due to the existence of the π–π* electron transition under UV light.

TL;DR: The IL aggregates were found to grow slowly as the increase of the salt concentrations under studied static conditions, and resulting in the increased aggregation number of the IL.
Abstract: Understanding of the specific salt effect on the aggregation behavior of ionic liquids (ILs) is relevant to multiple applications. In this work, the influence of a series of 15 salts on the aggregation behavior of [C10mim]Br in aqueous solutions has been investigated by conductivity, fluorescence, and dynamic light scattering. It was shown that NaCl, NaBr, NaI, CH3CO2Na, NaSCN, NaNO3, NaBrO3, NaClO3, C6H5COONa, Na2CO3, Na2SO4, Na2C4H4O6, and Na3CH5O7 have salting-out effect, whereas FeBr3 and AlBr3 have salting-in effect on the aggregation of [C10mim]Br in aqueous solutions. The effect of anions of the added sodium salts on the critical aggregation concentration (CAC), degree of anionic binding (β), and aggregation number (Nagg) of the IL basically follows the Hofmeister series, and the CAC values decrease but the β and Nagg values increase with increasing concentration of the salts. Hydrophobicity of the anions is suggested to play important roles in the salt effect on the aggregation of [C10mim]Br in aq...
