TL;DR: To efficiently cope with the high dimensionalities and complex nonlinear variations of face images in face recognition task, a novel manifold adaptive kernel local Fisher discriminant analysis algorithm is proposed in this paper.
Abstract: To efficiently cope with the high dimensionalities and complex nonlinear variations of face images in face recognition task, a novel manifold adaptive kernel local Fisher discriminant analysis algorithm is proposed in this paper. The core idea of this algorithm is as follows: First, the local manifold structure of the face image is modeled by a nearest neighbor graph. Then, an original input kernel function is deformed with respect to the local manifold structure. Finally, the resulting manifold adaptive kernel function is incorporated into the kernel local Fisher discriminant analysis(LFDA) method, which leads to the manifold adaptive kernel LFDA(MAKL) algorithm for face recognition. Experimental results on three popular face databases show that the proposed algorithm performs much better than other related algorithms.

TL;DR: Compared the influence of different soy protein products on wheat dough and its gluten characteristics, including soy protein isolate, texturized soy protein (TSP) and hydrolyzed soy proteins (SPH), revealed that effect of SPI, SPH and TSP was different and this difference was responsible for the change of gluten and dough characteristics.

TL;DR: In this article, the SeO2 modified glass structure, optical and electrical properties were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet-visible (UV-VIS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and electrical measurement.
Abstract: SeO2 doped high polarizable heavy metal oxides 10B2O3-40PbO-50Bi2O3 glasses have been prepared by normal melt-quenching technique. The SeO2 modified glass structure, optical and electrical properties were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet-visible (UV–VIS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and electrical measurement. Good vitrification was achieved for SeO2 up to 15%, exceed this value, Bi6SeO11 crystallines with size ranging from 20 nm to 50 nm would form in glass which was confirmed by XRD, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS). Compared with 10B2O3-40PbO-50Bi2O3 glass, the SeO2 modification decreased the band energy and accordingly red-shifted the cutoff edge greatly along with an increase of absorption in UV-VIS range. FT-IR spectra ascertained the co-existence of characteristic vibration bands of SeO42−, SeO32−, BiO6 and BiO6 frame units changed with SeO2 concentration. Such change in structure and optical property predominantly influenced the electrical conductivity, showing a progressive increase from 10−6 to 10−4 at 1–105 Hz and 473 K–573 K, due to the low gap energy, high polarizability, and non-bridging oxygen numbers induced by SeO32_ ions in glass.

TL;DR: Of all the SPI–saccharide conjugates, with time increased from 0 to 72 h, the antigenicity inhibition rate of β-conglycinin in SPI–glucose complexes declined from 83.55 (0 h) to 29.80 % (48 h), suggesting that introducing saccharides in SPI is an effective method to reduce the antigency of β.
Abstract: Soybean is a high-quality plant protein resource and also a major food allergen. Glycation is widely used to modify protein allergens. In the current report, the influences of different saccharides on soybean protein structure and antigenicity through glycation were investigated. Soybean protein isolate (SPI) and saccharides (glucose, galactose, maltose, lactose, and dextran), at 1:1 weight ratio, were dry-heated at 60 °C and 79 % relative humidity for different times. The content of free amino group in glycated products was decreased by trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid method. In addition, high-molecular aggregates were generated in the glycated SPI, indicating that glycation reaction occurred in SPI–saccharide conjugates. Moreover, the structure of SPI in conjugates changed with exposure to aromatic side chains. Of all the SPI–saccharide conjugates, with time increased from 0 to 72 h, the antigenicity inhibition rate of β-conglycinin in SPI–glucose complexes declined from 83.55 (0 h) to 29.80 % (48 h), suggesting that introducing saccharides in SPI is an effective method to reduce the antigenicity of β-conglycinin.
