Abstract: A convenient and efficient oxidative dual C–H selenation radical reaction of imidazoheterocycles with ethers or alkanes using selenium powder was developed with moderate to good yields. This procedure provides a wide range of valuable and structurally diverse 3-alkylselanyl-imidazoheterocycle derivatives with broad substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance and high efficiency.

TL;DR: In vitro antioxidant assays showed that the DPPH radical, hydroxyl radical, superoxide anion, and ABTS radical scavenging activities of GPP increased in a dose-dependent manner, and results indicated that GPP might exert its hypoglycemic effect by enhancing the SOD, CAT, and GSH-Px activities, decreasing the MDA activity, and improving the levels of the anti-inflammatory factors IL-4 and IL-10.

TL;DR: The authors employed multilevel mediation modeling to examine whether school processes mediate the effect of school composition upon school outcomes based on the data of 28 OECD countries in PISA 2003 and found that school composition effects are partially mediated by school climate factors.
Abstract: School composition effects have been consistently verified, but few studies ever attempted to study how school composition affects school achievement. Based on prior research findings, we employed multilevel mediation modeling to examine whether school processes mediate the effect of school composition upon school outcomes based on the data of 28 OECD countries in PISA 2003. These school process factors include school resources, opportunity to learn, school climate and school management. We find that school composition effects are partially mediated by school climate factors.
