TL;DR: In this paper, the nonlinear, non-isothermal, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) laminar convection flows of Buongiorno's nanofluid past a vertical surface with Darcy-Forchheimer model is investigated.
Abstract: The non-linear, non-isothermal, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) laminar convection flows of
Buongiorno’s nanofluid past a vertical surface with Darcy-Forchheimer model is mathematically
investigated in the present article. Keller’s Box implicit finite difference technique is utilized to
solve the dimensionless conservation equations. Graphical and tabulated results are analyzed to
study the behavior of primary and secondary velocity, temperature, nanoparticle volume fraction,
shear stress rate, heat transfer rate and mass transfer rate for various emerging thermos-physical
parameters. The Hall current and ion slip current effects are also considered. Validations of earlier
solutions in the literature is also included. The study finds applications in nanomaterial fabrication
processing, biomedical, polymer processing, chemical engineering, crude oil purifying, etc.

TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-sectional household survey conducted between July and September 2015 was conducted to examine the health-seeking behaviour and cost of treatment of fever treatment to households in Ghana, and the average cost (direct and indirect) incurred by households per fever treatment was GH¢27.3 (range: GH¢0.2/US$0.6).
Abstract: Objectives To examine the health-seeking behaviour and cost of fever treatment to households in Ghana. Design Cross-sectional household survey conducted between July and September 2015. Setting Kassena-Nankana East and West districts in Upper East region of Ghana. Participants Individuals with an episode of fever in the 2 weeks preceding a visit during routine health and demographic surveillance system data collection were selected for the study. Sociodemographic characteristics, treatment-seeking behaviours and cost of treatment of fever were obtained from the respondents. Results Out of 1845 households visited, 21% (393 of 1845) reported an episode of fever. About 50% (195 of 393) of the fever cases had blood sample taken for testing by microscopy or Rapid Diagnostic Test, and 73.3% (143 of 195) were confirmed to have malaria. Of the 393 people with fever, 70% (271 of 393) reported taking an antimalarial and 24.0% (65 of 271) took antimalarial within 24 hours of the onset of illness. About 54% (145 of 271) of the antimalarials were obtained from health facilities. The average cost (direct and indirect) incurred by households per fever treatment was GH¢27.8/US$7.3 (range: GH¢0.2/US$0.1–GH¢200/US$52.6). This cost is 4.6 times the daily minimum wage of unskilled paid jobs of Ghanaians (US$1.6). The average cost incurred by those enrolled into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was GH¢24.8/US$6.5, and GH¢50/US$11.6 for those not enrolled. Conclusions Prompt treatment within 24 hours of onset of fever was low (24%) compared with the Roll Back Malaria Programme target of at least 80%. Cost of treatment was relatively high when compared with average earnings of households in Ghana and enrolment into the NHIS reduced the cost of fever treatment remarkably. It is important to improve access to malaria diagnosis, antimalarials and enrolment into the NHIS in order to improve the case management of fever/malaria and accelerate universal health coverage in Ghana.

01 Jan 2020TL;DR: In this paper, the type and functions of communication strategies employed by EFL learners in L2 oral communication were investigated and a new classification of CSs functions was revealed in a series of group discussions and interviews.
Abstract: This chapter investigates the type and functions of communication strategies employed by EFL learners in L2 oral communication. Adopting a qualitative approach, the researcher invited a group of 13 students from the departments of English literature and translation in two Iranian universities to take part in a series of group discussions and interviews. A new classification of CSs functions in L2 oral communication was revealed in this study. Participants used CSs not only to create meaning but to promote their language knowledge and to establish, maintain and develop interpersonal communication in their L2 oral communication, too. Most of the CSs were employed in situations in which the meaning was clear and unproblematic.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a utility privacy model that established utility using Deep Adaptive Clustering (DAC) and privacy using Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), where the utility is performed using clustering of the input datasets using DAC and the privacy is maintained using ECDSA.
Abstract: The privacy and utility are treated as a major factor in influencing the role of data privacy preservation in cloud environments. There exists a trade-off between these two factors, where one factor should compromise its functionality over the other. It is hence necessary to maintain both utility and privacy for a data offloaded or accessed across cloud computing environment. In this paper, we develop a utility privacy model that established utility using Deep Adaptive Clustering (DAC) and privacy using Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA). The utility is performed using clustering of the input datasets using DAC and the privacy is maintained using ECDSA. The simulation is conducted on specific datasets to test the efficacy of the model and the results shows improved accuracy on clustering, and efficient privacy metrics than existing methods.
