TL;DR: In this paper, the main driving factors that encourage or, maybe force, the adoption of 4.0 IR technologies in the logistics industry are examined using the institutional theory, and the results reveal that both memetic and normative pressures strongly drive the adoption, whereas coercive pressure does not have significant effects.
Abstract: Logistics innovation literature has recognized that organizational decisions regards investing in 4.0 IR technologies are driven by financial gains and economic efficiencies. Yet, these might not be the only aspects; instead, they are influenced by the rational decision-making perspective dominant in specific industry, which has not yet been empirically investigated. Using the institutional theory, this study examines the main driving factors that encourage or, maybe force, the adoption of 4.0 IR technologies in the logistics industry. Using a survey, data were collected from 104 logistics firms in Oman. Results of this study reveal that both memetic and normative pressures strongly drive the adoption of 4.0 IR, whereas coercive pressure does not have significant effects. This may suggest that the memetic and normative pressures shall be better considered as antecedents to the adoption of 4.0 IR, while coercive pressures shall be considered as consequences. In addition, the study discloses that while firm size tends to have a positive effect on adopting such technologies, whereas, firm’s age is insignificantly related. Further practical and theoretical implications are suggested from the findings of this study.

TL;DR: A system for the students’ record management by the educational institutions using the IoT and Block chain technologies to maintain data integrity and security becomes the major concern.
Abstract: Aims: This paper addresses a system for the students’ record management by the educational institutions using the IoT and Block chain technologies. Motive for this Research: The growth of the contemporary technologies around the world has made almost all the chores easier and faster. Yet, the government and private organizations are struggling to identify the appropriate candidates for the required positions and to verify their credentials during the recruitment process. The recruiting companies are facing the issue of deceitful activities during the certification and other credential verifications. Moreover, the data are available only in the universities and the verification processes are very often manually completed and they are time demanding. Thus maintaining data integrity and security becomes the major concern for the organizations, which have widely suggested considering AI technology applications in the educational institutions which are ubiquitous nowadays, especially with the current rapid change in the technology landscape. TL;DR: In this article, the authors prove some inequalities satisfied by the modified degenerate gamma function which was recently introduced, including the Holder's inequality, the mean value theorem, the Hermite-Hadamard's inequality and the Young's inequality.
Abstract: In this paper, we prove some inequalities satisfied by the modified degenerate gamma function which was recently introduced. The tools employed include the Holder's inequality, the mean value theorem, the Hermite-Hadamard's inequality and the Young's inequality. By some parameter variations, the established results reduce to the corresponding results for the classical gamma function.

TL;DR: The definition of edge computing protection and confidentiality criteria is described, state-of-the-art strategies used to mitigate protection and privacy risks, and developments in technical approaches are emphasized.
Abstract: Several researchers analyzed the information security problems in edge computing, though not all studied the criteria for security and confidentiality in detail. This chapter intends to extensively evaluate the edge computing protection and confidentiality standards and the different technical approaches utilized by the technologies often used mitigate the risks. This study describes the latest research and emphasizes the following: (1) the definition of edge computing protection and confidentiality criteria, (2) state-of-the-art strategies used to mitigate protection and privacy risks, (3) developments in technical approaches, (4) measures used to measure the efficiency of interventions, (5) the categorization of threats on the edge device and the related technical pattern used to mitigate the attackers, and (6) research directions for potential professionals in the field of edge devices privacy and security.
