Abstract: Location estimation using the global system for mobile communication (GSM) is an emerging application that infers the location of the mobile receiver from multiple signals measurements While geometrical and signal propagation models have been deployed to tackle this estimation problem, the terrain factors and power fluctuations have confined the accuracy of such estimation Using support vector regression, we investigate the missing value location estimation problem by providing theoretical and empirical analysis on existing and novel kernels A novel synthetic experiment is designed to compare the performances of different location estimation approaches The proposed support vector regression approach shows promising performances, especially in terrains with local variations in environmental factors

Abstract: Wastewater is increasingly being used to irrigate agricultural land in many countries around the world. However, limited research has examined the occurrence of antibiotics in soil irrigated with wastewater and their accumulation in plants. This study aimed to determine the distribution of various types of antibiotics in different environmental matrices in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region and to evaluate their accumulation and translocation in edible crops. Samples were collected from six sites in the PRD where either domestic wastewater or fishpond water was used for irrigation. Results showed that fishpond water irrigated soils had higher concentrations of antibiotics than wastewater-irrigated soils. Different trends were observed in the accumulation of antibiotics in the different edible parts of various crops. Abstract: With the rapid development of information technologies, various big graphs are prevalent in many real applications (e.g., social media and knowledge bases). An important component of these graphs is the network community. Essentially, a community is a group of vertices which are densely connected internally. Community retrieval can be used in many real applications, such as event organization, friend recommendation, and so on. Consequently, how to efficiently find high-quality communities from big graphs is an important research topic in the era of big data. Recently, a large group of research works, called community search, have been proposed. They aim to provide efficient solutions for searching high-quality communities from large networks in real time. Nevertheless, these works focus on different types of graphs and formulate communities in different manners, and thus, it is desirable to have a comprehensive review of these works. In this survey, we conduct a thorough review of existing community search works. Moreover, we analyze and compare the quality of communities under their models, and the performance of different solutions. Furthermore, we point out new research directions. This survey does not only help researchers to have better understanding of existing community search solutions, but also provides practitioners a better judgment on choosing the proper solutions.
