TL;DR: The findings of this study suggest that student writing can be used as evidence for the presence or absence of reflective thinking, and develop and test coding systems for written reflective journals based on two well-known models of reflective Thinking.
Abstract: The concept of reflective learning has been widely adopted in many of the nursing curricula today. Reflective learning is of particular relevance to the education of professionals, as it encourages students to integrate theory with practice, appreciate the world on their own behalf, and turn every experience into a new potential learning experience. While nurse educators have widely accepted the educational benefits of reflection, research into reflective learning is hampered by the lack of reliable and widely accepted methods for assessing whether reflection takes place and the level of any reflection. This study attempted to develop and test coding systems for written reflective journals based on two well-known models of reflective thinking. The reflective journals submitted by the students were subjected to content analysis at two levels. The findings of this study suggest that student writing can be used as evidence for the presence or absence of reflective thinking. The process of allocating students to three categories of non-reflector, reflector and critical reflector was straightforward and reliable. Identifying textual elements within journals and allocating them to the finer levels of reflection within a more complex model of reflective thinking was, however, more problematic and considerably less reliable.

TL;DR: In this paper, the extent to which social media marketing is being utilized in the Hong Kong hotel industry is investigated, and the results indicate that hotels generally have a poor performance in using social media to learn about customers.
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which social media marketing is being utilized in the Hong Kong hotel industry. Marketing performance of 67 hotels in Hong Kong on 23 social media sites was evaluated according to 18 criteria adapted from past studies. The results indicate that hotels generally have a poor performance in using social media to learn about customers. Major problems regarding the hotels' social media marketing efforts are identified. Implications behind these problems and recommendations for improvement are made accordingly.

TL;DR: In this article, a fiber-optic strain sensor is demonstrated by using a short length of polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber (PM-PCF) as the sensing element inserted in a Sagnac loop interferometer.
Abstract: A fiber-optic strain sensor is demonstrated by using a short length of polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber (PM-PCF) as the sensing element inserted in a Sagnac loop interferometer. Spectrum shift in response of strain with a sensitivity of 0.23pm∕μe is achieved, and the measurement range, by stretching the PM-PCF only, is up to 32me. Due to the ultralow thermal sensitivity of the PM-PCF, the proposed strain sensor is inherently insensitive to temperature, eliminating the requirement for temperature compensation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the fresh and hardened properties of self-compacting concrete (SCC) using recycled concrete aggregate as both coarse and fine aggregates were evaluated, and the results indicate that the properties of the SCCs made from river sand and crushed fine recycled aggregates showed only slight differences.
Abstract: In this study, the fresh and hardened properties of self-compacting concrete (SCC) using recycled concrete aggregate as both coarse and fine aggregates were evaluated. Three series of SCC mixtures were prepared with 100% coarse recycled aggregates, and different levels of fine recycled aggregates were used to replace river sand. The cement content was kept constant for all concrete mixtures. The SCC mixtures were prepared with 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% fine recycled aggregates, the corresponding water-to-binder ratios (W/B) were 0.53 and 0.44 for the SCC mixtures in Series I and II, respectively. The SCC mixtures in Series III were prepared with 100% recycled concrete aggregates (both coarse and fine) but three different W/B ratios of 0.44, 0.40 and 0.35 were used. Different tests covering fresh, hardened and durability properties of these SCC mixtures were executed. The results indicate that the properties of the SCCs made from river sand and crushed fine recycled aggregates showed only slight differences. The feasibility of utilizing fine and coarse recycled aggregates with rejected fly ash and Class F fly ash for self-compacting concrete has been demonstrated.

TL;DR: An atom catalyst with atomically dispersed zerovalent molybdenum atoms on graphdiyne with a high mass content of Mo atoms that was synthesized via a facile and scalable process and is the first bifunctional AC for highly efficient and selective ammonia and hydrogen generation.
Abstract: The emergence of zerovalent atom catalysts has been highly attractive for catalytic science. For many years, scientists have explored the stability of zerovalent atom catalysts and demonstrated their unique properties. Here, we describe an atom catalyst (AC) with atomically dispersed zerovalent molybdenum atoms on graphdiyne (Mo0/GDY) with a high mass content of Mo atoms (up to 7.5 wt %) that was synthesized via a facile and scalable process. The catalyst shows both excellent selectivity and activity in the electrochemical reduction of nitrogen and in the hydrogen evolution reaction in aqueous solutions at room temperature and pressure. It is noted that this catalyst is the first bifunctional AC for highly efficient and selective ammonia and hydrogen generation. The catalytic process of our catalyst is well understood, the structure is defined, and the performance is excellent, providing a solid foundation for the generation and application of the new generation of catalysts.
