TL;DR: In this article, a variational Bayesian approach called recursive meanfield approximation is proposed, which permits computationally efficient instantaneous on-line inference for recommender systems with stream inputs.
Abstract: The increasing popularity of real-world recommender systems produces data continuously and rapidly, and it becomes more realistic to study recommender systems under streaming scenarios. Data streams present distinct properties such as temporally ordered, continuous and high-velocity, which poses tremendous challenges to traditional recommender systems. In this paper, we investigate the problem of recommendation with stream inputs. In particular, we provide a principled framework termed sRec, which provides explicit continuous-time random process models of the creation of users and topics, and of the evolution of their interests. A variational Bayesian approach called recursive meanfield approximation is proposed, which permits computationally efficient instantaneous on-line inference. Experimental results on several real-world datasets demonstrate the advantages of our sRec over other state-of-the-arts.

TL;DR: RKSLAM is presented, a robust keyframe-based monocular SLAM system that can reliably handle fast motion with strong rotation and ensure good AR experiences, and an AR App is developed, which allows the user to freely insert 3D furniture models into the scene to see the AR effect without imagination.
Abstract: In this demo, we present RKSLAM, a robust keyframe-based monocular SLAM system that can reliably handle fast motion with strong rotation and ensure good AR experiences. We contribute two key technical contributions: a novel multi-homography based feature tracking method which is very robust and efficient, and a sliding-window based camera pose optimization scheme which imposes the motion prior constraints between consecutive frames through simulated or real IMU data. Based on RKSLAM, we develop an AR App on a mobile device, which allows the user to freely insert 3D furniture models into the scene to see the AR effect without imagination.

TL;DR: Current research challenges in ICN are described, including naming, security, routing, system scalability, mobility management, wireless networking, transport services, in-network caching, and network management.
Abstract: This memo describes research challenges for Information-Centric Networking (ICN), an approach to evolve the Internet infrastructure to directly support information distribution by introducing uniquely named data as a core Internet principle. Data becomes independent from location, application, storage, and means of transportation, enabling or enhancing a number of desirable features, such as security, user mobility, multicast, and in-network caching. Mechanisms for realizing these benefits is the subject of ongoing research in the IRTF and elsewhere. This document describes current research challenges in ICN, including naming, security, routing, system scalability, mobility management, wireless networking, transport services, in-network caching, and network management. This document is a product of the IRTF Information-Centric Networking Research Group (ICNRG).

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for publishing presence information is proposed, including: receiving, by a presence server, a message carrying presence information to be published sent from a delegated presentity client or application server.
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for publishing presence information, including: receiving, by a presence server, a message carrying presence information to be published sent from a delegated presentity client or application server; publishing the presence information in the message carrying presence information to be published according to delegation authorization rules upon determining that the presence information is published by delegation; sending the processed presence information to a watcher client. This invention also provides, a presence server and a presence information composing and publishing unit for publishing presence information. The invention makes it more flexible to publish presence information and enhances user' experience.

TL;DR: A new concept of cognitive optical networks utilizing intelligent software as well as flexible optics is discussed, capable of provisioning adaptive bandwidth services at wavelength and sub-wavelength levels, making future optical networks more cognitive and reconfigurable.
Abstract: To support efficient delivery of packet and circuit services simultaneously in future optical networks, software will play more and more important roles, not only in control and management plane, but also in transport plane. This article discusses a new concept of cognitive optical networks utilizing intelligent software (e.g., digital signal processing in the optical transport plane and GMPLS in the optical control plane) as well as flexible optics (e.g., colorless, directionless, contentionless, gridless ROADM, and optical OFDM). The software-defined CON architecture with advanced capabilities such as quality of transmission awareness and client service awareness is capable of provisioning adaptive bandwidth services at wavelength and sub-wavelength levels, making future optical networks more cognitive and reconfigurable.
