TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate how other sources of task experiences from the worker's immediate manager as well as the organization itself can help manage the relationship between worker specialization and performance, by analyzing a proprietary dataset that comprises of 39,162 software service tasks that 310 employees in a Fortune 100 organization executed under the supervision of 92 managers.
Abstract: textLearning by doing is a fundamental driver of productivity among knowledge workers. As workers accumulate experience working on certain types of tasks (i.e., they become specialized), they also develop proficiency in executing these
tasks. However, previous research suggests that organizations may struggle to leverage the knowledge workers accrue
through specialization because specialized workers tend to lose interest and reduce effort during task execution. This
study investigates how organizations can improve specialized workers’ performance by mitigating the dysfunctional
effects of specialization. In particular, we study how other sources of task experiences from the worker’s immediate manager as well as the organization itself help manage the relationship between worker specialization and performance. We
do so by analyzing a proprietary dataset that comprises of 39,162 software service tasks that 310 employees in a Fortune
100 organization executed under the supervision of 92 managers. Results suggest that the manager role experience (i.e.,
the manager’s experience supervising workers) is instrumental in mitigating the potential negative effect of worker specialization on performance, measured as task execution time. Such influence, however, is contingent on cases in which
organizational task experience (i.e., the organization’s experience in executing tasks of the same substantive content as the
focal task) is limited. Taken together, our research contributes to multiple streams of research and unearths important
insights on how multiple sources of experience beyond the workers themselves can help capture the elusive benefits of
worker specialization.

TL;DR: The authors showed that both the expansion and shrinking of the Global Imbalances since the mid 1990s are strongly correlated with the dynamics of housing markets, without any role for exchange rate driven expenditure switching.
Abstract: I show that, across and within countries, both the expansion and shrinking of the Global Imbalances since the mid 1990s are strongly correlated with the dynamics of housing markets. Then I study a quantitative model which can account for both the dynamics of housing and the global imbalances without any role for exchange rate driven expenditure switching. Housing demand drivers (population, LTV, housing expectations) alone imply counterfactual interest rate dynamics. Savings glut shocks alone generate the wrong housing price-to-rent ratios. Both types of shocks need to be combined. Counterfactuals using the model suggest that, as long as loan-to-values are regulated and housing expectations are not very optimistic, the large global imbalances of the mid-2000s are unlikely to return.

TL;DR: In this article, a revision conceptual and terminologica of marketing ligado a iniciativas novedosas, such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), asi como elaborar una vision normativa del mismo in different stages.

TL;DR: Two multi-layer feed-forward artificial neural networks are concatenated in an attempt to model the composite non-linear burnout process and sensitivity analysis is used, a Monte Carlo–based global simulation technique, to examine the first-order effects of the predictor variables on the burnout sub-dimensions and consequences.
Abstract: Artificial neural networks are sophisticated modelling and prediction tools capable of extracting complex, non-linear relationships between predictor (input) and predicted (output) variables. This study explores this capacity by modelling non-linearities in the hardiness-modulated burnout process with a neural network. Specifically, two multi-layer feed-forward artificial neural networks are concatenated in an attempt to model the composite non-linear burnout process. Sensitivity analysis, a Monte Carlo–based global simulation technique, is then utilised to examine the first-order effects of the predictor variables on the burnout sub-dimensions and consequences. Results show that (1) this concatenated artificial neural network approach is feasible to model the burnout process, (2) sensitivity analysis is a prolific method to study the relative importance of predictor variables and (3) the relationships among variables involved in the development of burnout and its consequences are to different degrees non...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare urban planning and land management in Spain and the UK and identify key differences in the legal bases for these activities in the two countries and comment on the way in which the institutions that deliver them allocate property rights between the state and private organizations and individuals.
Abstract: This study compares urban planning and land management in Spain and the UK. Its purpose is to identify key differences in the legal bases for these activities in the two countries and to comment on the way in which the institutions that deliver them allocate property rights between the state and private organizations and individuals. In particular, we analyse the respective approaches to allocating rights to compensation and betterment value associated with land development, commenting on the efficiency and equity of each system and, in Coasian tradition, the influence the assignment of property rights has on municipal government behaviour.
