TL;DR: In this article, the authors used credit ratings as an uncertainty-reducing mechanism to reduce IPO underpricing and filing price revision. And they found that the acquisition of multiple ratings in the pre-IPO period mitigates uncertainty more than the single rating, whereas credit rating levels matter only for IPOs with more than one rating.

TL;DR: A utility-based reputation model for MQTT is developed, where a reputation score is assigned to participants in a network based on monitoring their behaviour and it is demonstrated how experimental results obtained from simulating the architecture compare with the expected outcome of the theoretical reputation model.
Abstract: The MQTT protocol has emerged over the past decade as a key protocol for a number of low power and lightweight communication scenarios including machine-to-machine and the Internet of Things. In this paper we develop a utility-based reputation model for MQTT, where we can assign a reputation score to participants in a network based on monitoring their behaviour. We mathematically define the reputation model using utility functions on participants based on the expected and perceived behaviour of MQTT clients and servers. We define an architecture for this model, and discuss how this architecture can be implemented using existing MQTT open source tools, and we demonstrate how experimental results obtained from simulating the architecture compare with the expected outcome of the theoretical reputation model.

TL;DR: A research model to analyze the benefits of Enterprise Systems, by using disconfirmation theory as a theoretical basis, suggests that dimensions of equity and attribution theories are explored as a process mediating the effects of these variables on satisfaction with the employee and the organization.
Abstract: This research-in-progress study proposes a research model to analyze the benefits of Enterprise Systems (ES), by using disconfirmation theory as a theoretical basis. We review and extend previous models by including the needs/desires of users as a disconfirmation construct and by separating needs/desires and expectations of the ES from the information provided by the ES. We suggest that both elements have an impact on the overall perceived net benefits of the ES used within an organization. Furthermore, dimensions of equity and attribution theories are explored as a process mediating the effects of these variables on satisfaction with the employee and the organization.

TL;DR: A hybrid metaheuristic approach is proposed which combines local search techniques with a population based meta heuristic, including the cross entropy method as well as path relinking as ingredients for building workgroups with the goal of maximizing intra-group diversity while minimizing inter-group heterogeneity.
Abstract: Workgroup assignment problems commonly appear in various settings including international business schools. Especially if diverse people, like students, need to be divided into workgroups one may seek environments where diversity is fostered by generating heterogeneous workgroups. We study a problem of workgroups diversity maximization, i.e., the problem of building workgroups with the goal of maximizing intra-group diversity, while minimizing inter-group heterogeneity. For solving this problem with different objectives we propose a hybrid metaheuristic approach which combines local search techniques with a population based metaheuristic, including the cross entropy method as well as path relinking as ingredients. Numerical results are presented on some real-world instances.
