TL;DR: The authors in this article used a combination of in-depth interviews and literature review to develop a causal framework linking leadership to Employee Creativity and presented organizational justice perceptions, positive psychological capital and work motivation as important mediating variables.
Abstract: While research exploring the relationship between leadership and creativity is scant, there exists even smaller research analyzing the impact of specific supervisory behaviors on creativity. The first part of the study identifies a set of supervisory behaviors that has the potential to impact Employee Creativity. The second part of the study addresses the mechanisms through which leaders influence Employee Creativity and presents organizational justice perceptions, positive psychological capital and work motivation as important mediating variables. The study uses a combination of in-depth interviews and literature review to develop a causal framework linking leadership to Employee Creativity.

TL;DR: This paper proposes a model using the meta-heuristic bat algorithm to estimate the test effort and shows that the estimations is closer to the actual efforts and is thus more accurate than other methods.
Abstract: The process of actually predicting efforts for software testing phase is a complex task. There are many factors affect test effort estimation, including productivity of the test team, strategy chosen for testing, size and complexity of the system, technical factors, expected quality and others. Several studies have been done for developing test effort estimation models but to some extent, most of these models result in erroneous effort estimation. Thus, there is a strong need to optimise the test effort estimation. In this paper, we proposed a model using the meta-heuristic bat algorithm to estimate the test effort. The proposed model is then used to optimise the effort by iteratively improving the solutions. Results show that our estimations is closer to the actual efforts and is thus more accurate than other methods.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined empirically the announcement period price reaction and whether management is acting in the best interest of non-tendering shareholders when it engages in targeted share buyback.
Abstract: Share buybacks have become a common event in the financial markets worldwide. In a share buyback programme, the company distributes the excess cash flow among the shareholders by way of repurchasing its own shares, generally at a premium. Among the various reasons for doing so, the most prominent is the fact that the company wants to indicate to the share holders that it has huge confidence in itself. In India share buybacks were introduced in 1998 and has received attention of all major companies. Since then there has been a spate of announcement of share buybacks. This paper examines empirically the announcement period price reaction and whether management is acting in the best interest of non-tendering shareholders when it engages in targeted share buyback. An exhaustive list of all the financial parameters was considered for the purpose of analysis and the data was collected through online databases. A trend analysis was performed on various parameters like share prices of these companies during and post buyback period. Various performance measures were also used to draw conclusion regarding their trends from pre buyback to post buyback period. The study established that for the Indian corporate, the long term advantages of share buyback are not clear. Buyback process is generally used to improve the shareholding of promoters of the company, and with a view to impart short term gains for the investors. The study also points out that buyback norms should be made more stringent for Indian context, if the companies are to have a long-term view. In the end, the study lays down possible directions in which further research could be done on this topic.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the relationship between economic development and female labor supply using state-level data spanning 1983-1984 to 2011-2012 and found that there is no systematic U-shaped relationship between level of domestic product and women's LFPR.
Abstract: India has experienced steady economic growth over the last two decades alongside a persistent decline in female labor force participation. This paper explores the relationship between economic development and female labor supply using state-level data spanning 1983-1984 to 2011-2012. While several studies suggest a U shaped relationship between development and female labor force participation, our results suggest that at the state level, there is no systematic U shaped relationship between level of domestic product and women’s LFPR. On examining the relationship between the structure of the economy and women’s economic activity we find that it is not economic growth but rather the composition of growth that is relevant for women.Further, our results suggest that aggregate changes in the proportion of females in the workforce can be mostly attributed to the movement of the workforce across sectors rather than changes in the proportion of female workforce within a sector.
