TL;DR: A receiver-centric approach for location tracking and MAC protocol is proposed and the performance evaluation on QualNet network simulator indicates that the protocol is highly efficient with increasing number of communications and increasing data rate.
Abstract: The use of directional antenna in wireless ad hoc networks potentially increases simultaneous communication by directing the transmitting and receiving beams towards the receiver and transmitter node as compared to omni-directional antenna, where nodes in the vicinity of a communication are kept silent. However, in order to implement effective directional MAC protocol using directional antenna, a node should know how to set its transmission direction to transmit a packet to its neighbors and to avoid transmission in other directions where data communications are already in progress. So, it becomes imperative to have a mechanism at each node to track the locations of its neighbors and to know the communication status of neighboring nodes. In this paper, we propose a receiver-centric approach for location tracking and MAC protocol. The performance evaluation on QualNet network simulator indicates that our protocol is highly efficient with increasing number of communications and increasing data rate.

TL;DR: This paper presents a branch-and-bound state-space search algorithm that employs the fast Inter-Cell Traffic Minimization Method to provide good upper bounds, and computes lower bounds based on a relaxation of merging.
Abstract: This paper addresses the problem of grouping machines in order to design cellular manufacturing cells, with an objective to minimize inter-cell flow. This problem is related to one of the major aims of group technology (GT): to decompose the manufacturing system into manufacturing cells that are as independent as possible. This problem is NP-hard. Thus, nonheuristic methods cannot address problems of typical industrial dimensions because they would require exorbitant amounts of computing time, while fast heuristic methods may suffer from poor solution quality. We present a branch-and-bound state-space search algorithm that attempts to overcome both these deficiencies. One of the major strengths of this algorithm is its efficient branching and search strategy. In addition, the algorithm employs the fast Inter-Cell Traffic Minimization Method to provide good upper bounds, and computes lower bounds based on a relaxation of merging.

TL;DR: In this article, a survey of local newspapers was undertaken, among consumers in India, to establish a brand equity model for newspapers, based on Aaker's CBBE theory, and factor analysis of the data indicated that localisation, ideology, credibility, and entertainment are the variables that influence CBBE.
Abstract: In an increasingly competitive media market, branding is a potent tool in the hands of media firms. Though significant developments have taken place in the realm of practice, there is sparse research in the academic domain on consumer-based brand performance drivers in the media industry. The objective of this article is to establish the variables that affect the customer-based brand equity (CBBE) of newspaper brands. A survey of local newspapers was undertaken, among consumers in India, to establish a brand equity model for newspapers, based on Aaker’s CBBE theory. Data were collected through survey, and factor analysis of the data indicated that localisation, ideology, credibility, and entertainment are the variables that influence CBBE. Subsequently, structural equation modelling revealed that all the variables had positive impact on brand equity. For marketers of newspapers, this study identifies the factors that they need to focus on if they want to garner the equity of the brand. For the fir...
